Bumping Into The Enemy

I hear Conners truck pulling into the drive way. He must have known I was watching because he looked up to my window and waved. Before I could wave back my mom called my name.

"Brook I made breakfast are you hungry."

"Starving, be down in a bit."

Before heading down I sprayed perfume on me. Conner must have been walking slowly because I had time to come down and make my plate before he even walked through the door.

"Well good morning Conner did you sleep good?" My mom said while sending me a wink. Which only meant she was going to talk about all this later.

"Yes ma'am." But his attention then turned to me. "Skipping school?"

"Ha I wish that was the case, but someone couldn't turn the other way and she punched Lexie. I think I'll be angry about it when Lexie's mom sends me the doctors bill."

Conner looked at me in a confused way I couldn't tell what he was thinking, but I was sure I would find out later. My mom must have seen the way we was looking at each other because she excused herself to go get ready for work.

"You didn't hit her because of last night. When she went up stairs and smiled at me? I told you she wasn't my type."

"If you think I would hit her over that your crazy. She just knows how to push my buttons and also it wasn't about you... It was about Abby." I lied we haven't even built a relationship and its already being built with lies.

"Hey man glad you made it. Hope I'm not ruining anything, but we need to go before we are late." Ryan said flipping his phone back and forth between hands.

"Na man you wasn't ruining anything. I'll be outside in a sec."

"Where are you two going?" My voice sounded harsh, but the way he got an attitude with me over Lexie just pissed me off.

"To pick up some friends and shoot some hoops. Are you okay?"

"Yeah," faking a smile, "Go have fun see you later?" I said it more as a question than a statement because honestly I had no idea where on earth we stood at this point.

"Okay." He gave me a quick kiss on the cheek and headed outside.

I don't know what was going on with Abby and my relationship with Conner. I knew one thing for sure I didn't want Abby mad at me anymore.

Hey Abbs want to hangout later?

I would but I'm going to check on Lexie...

Why? You do know I hit her because she was talking badly about you right?

Really then why would she say you hit her because she was going to tell me about you flirt with Blade? You know honestly you have changed and I'd appreciate if you would leave me alone. Oh and I need my dress back.
