The first week went by so slow without Conner, receiving phone calls here and there.
"One week down, one more stupid school week to go." I mumbled to myself.
It was Monday morning and my suspension was over. I really dreaded going back because honestly I had zero friends now. Plus I have to face Lexie and Abby again and it worried me all day Sunday. I thought about just walking into school and hitting Lexie again just so I wouldn't have to go back. But I'm already so far behind in school work that I'd have to repeat a semester if I ended up getting into trouble.
"Brook you up?" My mom called from down stairs. "You have to get ready for school."
Good morning baby hope you have a good day at school. Don't worry about the drama they aren't worth it.
He is right why am I worried about them. It is my last year in high school and next year everyone is going to different colleges and drama won't matter.
As much as I tell myself that I don't believe it. College seems so far away and I just want my best friend back.
**********
Fourth period sucks. I mean normally College Algebra is great, my teacher is awesome. He let's us play on our phones after we finish our work. But I have Abby and Lexie in here.
"Okay class so since spring break is next week and a test is Thursday. I'm going to let you work in partners on the study guide." Mr. Carter said.
Everyone gathered with their partner and part of me was hoping Abby would pick me, but she just looked at Lexie and smiled.
"Hey want to work together?" A girl with short brown hair said to me.
"Hazel right."
"Yes ma'am. My usual partner is working with someone else so I thought I'd ask you." Hazel pulled a chair up next to my desk.
"Yeah mine too." I looked up at Abby and frowned. Her and Lexie were talking about the big spring bash that Parker was throwing.
Hazel followed my eyes and frowned also. "Crazy how our best friends left us for each other huh?"
"Wait Lexie is your best friend?"
"We was a little more then just best friends if you know what I mean." She said opening her study guide. "So do you think number one is A?"
"Wait what do you mean?"
"Well it's obviously not B or D. I mean it could be C, but I think it is A."
"That's not what I mean. How are you two more then best friends?"
"Oh I'm sure you didn't hear because she likes to keep her love life a secret, but what the hell she broke my heart. We use to be a thing I mean it wasn't outed or anything because little ms. Perfect has an image to withhold."
"You two were a thing?"
"Yep but she didn't want to tell people. I mean at first I thought maybe I could change her mind, but after a year I realized I was wrong. Plus people always assumed something was up with us so she had to hang out with boys to reassure everyone she was straight."
"Wow I don't know what to say. If I was in your position I would be mad."
"Yeah, but I heard you hit her in the face which is cool. I wish I would have been the one to do it though. I'm sorry she stole your best friend, but trust me Lexie can't keep friends long so don't worry."
"Yeah." Hazel was really cool and the fact that she knew all of Lexie's secrets was a bonus. "I think its A also."
"Cool I knew I was right." She said smiling.
The rest of the day went by pretty fast. I didn't see Lexie or Abby after fourth period which was a plus. I ended up making a new friend who just so happened to be Lexie's ex girl friend. Now the only thing to make this day better would be a phone call or text from Conner.
Short chapter I know but the next one is the best of them all. Its party day and the drama will be intense.
Xoxo
