When Grace woke the next morning, it was because the sun shined through the window. She glanced at the alarm clock near the bed and noted that it was 7:20am. She knew the alarm would go off to wake Jane up in 40 minutes and then she'd have to have breakfast ready for the both of them.
The shop didn't open until 10 and they'd have plenty of time to get ready afterwards before taking the 15 minute drive over. She wondered what today would bring as she glanced back at Jane. She was suprised to find that she was well rested and at peace. She studied the other woman who snored softy near her ear. She found it to be relaxing. She smiled but then it slowly faded away when she remembered what she had done to this woman.
She had ruined her life and broken up a happy family. She'd never forgive herself for what she had done and couldn't see how Jane could ever either. She knew, although not first hand, how parents cared for their children and she knew Jane must had been heartbroken at the loss of her son. She pretended that she didn't care and that it didn't bother her but Grace knew better. There were signs of sadness everywhere that she looked.
She decided to get up and go shower, then get dressed and prepare breakfast.
She choose a hot pink mini skirt today and a light pink halter top. She wondered if Jane would approve. Would she think that she looked cute? How would she like her hair? Should she put on makeup today? Then she wondered why she cared so much what Jane thought of her.
She sighed and flat Ironed her long hair.
She had breakfast ready by the time Jane came down the stairs and sat at the breakfast bar on her cell phone. When the two saw each other, Jane stopped taking the time out to allow her eyes to travel down Grace's outfit. If the hunger in her eyes were any indication, she approved of her attire.

When the two arrived to the shop, Jane gave Grace a list of tasks to complete and some of them proved difficult in the outfit that she was wearing, like when she was organizing things on top shelves and would have to climb up a Ladder to reach the items. Jane was enjoying the sight at first until she realized that she wasn't the only one enjoying it, two of her employees, were as well. A young man, who served as her stocker by the name of Robert and an older man in his late 50's who cared for the sick animals were as well.
It angered her. Grace was her fucking girlfriend. Not theirs. She wasn't going to share her girlfriend with anyone else and she refused to be cheated on again. She had to calm herself down and make a scene. She wasn't going to let her leave the house dressed like that ever again.
She watched as Robert made his way Grace initiating conversation with her. She tried her hardest to hear what they were saying but she couldn't make out the words. The bubbles from the large fish tank behind her toned them out. She glared at the sight. Grace climbed down the ladder carefully before turning to talk to him, laughing at something that he said. He pulled out his cell phone and gave it to the teen, most likely asking for her number.
She wasn't having it. She stormed from behind the counter to where the two of them were speaking. Their voices becoming clear and she could now understand some of the conversation. Robert was asking her to hang out with him and a couple of his friends. "Excuse me, the two of you are supposed to be working, not chit chatting.
Their smiles faded away and Robert excused himself while taking his phone back.
Jane grabbed Grace's hand and the two went into her office, she closed the door behind them. "What were the two of you talking about?" She questioned, turning towards Grace, crossing her arms over her chest.
"He was inviting me out with him and some of his friends"
"You're not going, and did I see you give him your number?" Jane questioned voice raising causing Grace to flinch. She didn't answer verbally, she just nodded. "Why the fuck would you do that, are you planning on fucking him?"
"What, no!" Grace rushed out to say.
"Don't raise your voice at me!" She shouted. Her anger got the best of her and she slapped Grace across the face. Grace backed away from her, her back touching the door.
"Why are you acting like that?" She questioned. Her hand cupped her face and she knew it would leave a bruise. "He just wanted to be my friend. He wasn't asking me to go out on a date with him, besides, I think he's gay, he's not intested in me. He even asked where I got my shoes from"
"I will NOT be cheated on again. I have suffered enough humiliation to last a lifetime"
"I'm sorry Jane, but we're not dating forreal, not really" Grace whispered softly. She was afraid to say that, but she felt she had to. "We're just pretending"
"Like hell we are" She began. She came closer to Grace. "You're my girlfriend. Forreal"
Grace shook her head, afraid. Jane was scaring her, she couldn't understand why she was acting like this.
"we're not - Jane" She pleaded with her to listen.
"Grace?" Jane questioned with a dangerous smile on her face.
"Yes?"
"Will you be my girlfriend?" The two of them were mere inches apart. She looked down at Grace and could see the fear in her eyes. The teen shook her head and she couldn't understand what exactly got into her, without thought her hand tightened around the teens throat. She watched as Grace's eyes widened. Her soft hands raising to stop her, but she was stronger.
"y-ye-yes" Grace struggled to get out. The hands around her throat loosened, she struggled to return her breathing to normal.
"Good choice darling, you're mine, it's best to remember that" Jane threatened. She pushed Grace out of the way of the door. "Clean yourself up"
Grace starred behind her, eyes wide. She couldn't believe what had just happened. What had she gotten herself into.
She was now Jane's girlfriend.
