"Does that mean your husband lost his memory before he died?" Miss Rasheedah asked after sipping her zobo from the transparent cup.

"Noo he didn't, even though the tumor got to the last grade, he never lost his memory" I replied while marking the students test papers.

My ringtone cut our conversation as it blared into the air. I brought out my phone from my bag and the caller ID showed Muhammad Sageer.

"Assalamu Alaikum" I said on picking the call

"Wa alaikumussalam. How are you?"

"I'm fine Alhamdulillah. How's work?"

"All good. I'm at the parking lot of your school"

"Whatt?! How comes? When? How?" I asked all confused

"I told you I was coming today. Remember?" He said calmly

La hawla wa la quwwata... how did I forget? I was supposed to switch my phone off. Ya Allah!

"I'll see in you in 2 minutes please" I said before ending the call.

"Are you okay?" Miss Rasheedah asked after seeing my unusual behaviour

"Yess. Don't I sound okay?"

I adjusted my headtie and wrapped my veil on my head properly before leaving the staff room. I didn't know why but for the first time I was nervous to meet Sageer. Maybe because it was after five years of no contact but I was so nervous. I stayed at the reception for about two minutes before proceeding outside.

I sighted him immediately I came outside and for no reason tears filled my eyes to the brim. He was one hell of a stubborn friend. He didn't even ask if he could come see me, he just said he was coming. Whether I agreed or not was my business.

"Alot has happened in just five years" These were his first words when he approached me

"The good, the bad and the ugly" I smiled.

"We have alot of catching up to do but first have this" he passed me an envelope

I hesitated before collecting it. I stared at it for  some seconds, then finally decided to open it.

"Ya salaam! Sageer...."

"What?" He smiled

"Why did you do this? You shouldn't have aii. Ya ilahil Alameen. Sageer.... Oh Allah! I don't think I can accept this"

"I didn't give you a choice ma'am"

"But this is too much. A job in London?!"

"Yess. You wanted it and I tried my best to get it for you"

"How did you get it?"

"Hameeds elder brother works with them and since they're Nigerians they wanted a Nigerian accountant to work with them. Specifically a woman. So I talked to him when Hameed told me about it."

"How did you get my CV then?"

"Ameera of course"

"Wow!...." I sighed heavily

"Yeah and now the job is all yours In Shaa Allah . All you need to know is in the envelope. The company wants to have a video chat with you too"

"OMG! When?"

"On Monday "

And for the first time in four years I couldn't reject help. Sageer was something else. He doesn't even give me a chance to say no.
