Louis was in his room, with his laptop propped on his legs while sitting on the on the floor. At the moment he was looking for an apartment for him and his sister. The reason? Their father, who was a drug addicted and an abuser. Ever since his wife left him he's has blamed the kids for her leaving. She left him with two kids he didn't even want. When Pablo was drunk he slapped, if he was in the mood he would beat, his kids.

"Louis, vamos. Llegaremos tarde a la escuela." Janel yelled from the other side of the his door.

Translation: Louis, come on. We're going to be late for school.

"Okay!" Louis yelled back to his sister. Janel was 16. She's very desperate for her and her brother to fit in at school. The only way she could think of that ever happening if she hung with the popular kids.

Louis closed his laptop, got up off the floor and threw the laptop on his bed. He went to grab his phone, but it wasn't there, he started to look for it. "Lou! Can you please hurry up?!" Janel shouted.

He found his phone underneath some clothes. Grabbing his backpack, opened his door to an angry Janel with her arms crossed. "Took you long enough." She said with an attitude.

"So sorry for making you wait." He sarcastically said while kissing her on the forehead. He noticed Janel scanning his outfit.

"You're wearing that to school." She said putting the emphasis on that.

He looked down at his attire, black shirt and black jeans, with a blue jean jacket and checkered vans. "What's wrong with I'm wearing?" Louis asked, really trying to figure out what's wrong with it.

"It's just so plain. This is why no talks to us."

He let out a sign and walked passed her to front door. "I'm pretty sure that's not the reason people don't talk to us."

"You're right. It's cause of those tattoos on your face." Louis dramatically dropped his mouth.

"I thought you liked my tattoos."

"I do, I love them, but I overheard someone say it makes you look scary."

"Well I don't care if people talk to me or not. I have you,-"

"James and Philly. That's all you need." Janel said finishing his sentence.

They made it to the front door, just as they were about to walk out. Pablo saw them about to leave. "Where the fuck do you think your going." They just stopped, neither of them answered him. "¿Entonces no me escuchas?"

Translation: So you don't hear me?

Janel turned around. "We're just going to school, dad." Janel told him with a shy tone.

"Oh ok, let borrow some money." He turned his attention to Louis.

"Why? So you can buy more crack?"

"No, so I can pay the rent, jackass." Pablo lied.

"Well I already payed it. Let's go Nel." He opened the door to let his sister out first. They walked out to his navy blue 2014 Chevy Cruze.

"Why didn't you just give dad any money?" Janel asked when they were in the car. Louis looked his sister as if she grew two heads. "What?"

"What do mean why didn't I give him the money?" He semi yelled. "He doesn't do the things he say he gon do."

"I know, but he's our dad."

"I don't care, Janel. He doesn't care about us. He made that very clear when started beating us." Louis had a harsh tone. He started his car and backed out of the driveway.
