^New Zen🥰🥰^

This bullshit is so boring and unnecessary. Louis thought as he and the class of 2020 sat in the auditorium practicing for their graduation. Graduation came super fast and Janel was getting sadder and sadder.

"Louis!" The theater teacher broke him out of his thoughts. "Your name was called to walk across the stage." Louis got up and walked towards her on stage. "Try to look a little more enthusiastic. Smile." Louis put a fake smile on. Some of the kids laughed. "You have two weeks to work on it."

They practiced for a few more minutes and got a speech from the principal about how proud he was of them and how much he would miss them even though he was barely around.

"Guess what?" Philly said as he, Louis, Zen, James, and Rebecca walked out of the auditorium.

"What?" Zen asked.

"Before coming here principle Jacobs told me they want me to give a speech at graduation." He said.

"Why would they want you to do it?" Louis asked in disbelief.

"Nigga don't sound so shocked," Philly said offended. "They probably want me to do it 'cause I'm that nigga." He said confidently.

Zen busted out laughing, "yeah right. That nigga? Please." She said. "Come on Rebecca." She pulled her away from the boys.

"Bye guys," Rebecca said quickly.

"Louis you need to get yo girl," Philly said.

Louis rolled his eyes, "Okay... James, whatever happened between you and Rebecca?" Louis asked curiously.

"Oh, we just decided to be friends. Friends." James said. Before anyone could say anything some boys stepped in front of them.

"Y'all should feel really bad right now." One them said.

"Why should we feel bad?" Louis asked. Philly and James knew exactly who these boys were they are on the football team with them and Israel's friends.

"Don't act stupid. Your little sister got Israel in jail. Now he won't get to graduate." The white boy said.

"Well, maybe he shouldn't have done what he did," James said in a suggested tone.

"Football season over with now. We can really beat y'all ass-"

"Darrel, Steve go on somewhere with that bullshit man. Ain't nobody tryna fight y'all ugly asses." Philly said. Louis mentally laughs.

"Why are you guys trying to protect this weirdo?" Steve asked pointing at Louis.

"And why y'all tryna protect a rapist?" Philly shot back. The two boys went silent after that. James took that as an escape and pushed them of them away so they continue walking. "What the fuck is wrong with these niggas?" Philly asked. James shook his head.

"They're crazy," James said.

"For real. If they try something I'm beating they ugly asses." Philly said.

"Calm down. I don't want you guys to get in trouble right before graduation. Okay?" Louis said. Philly agreed but he knew he was gon fight if these bitches start something.

The day was all finished at school. Louis and Janel were now on their way to Sofia's home. Like it was said before they had gotten real close, Sofia and Janel. Louis was starting to open up to Sofia himself, he couldn't lie he really missed her more than he thought he did.

"Hey mami," Janel said when she opened the door. "Dani!" Janel took the five-year-old from Sofia.

As for Sofia's step kids Louis and Janel took fond of them very quickly. Even though Louis don't like kids, he made a exception for them.

Louis could see Sofia looked frail, "what's wrong mami?" He asked surprising himself, Janel, and Sofia.

"Oh um my husband's here. I'm just scared you guys won't like him," Sofia said worried.

"I'm sure he's a nice man with the way you and the kids talk about him," Janel reassured.

Just then a young man, around thirty-five, walked into the room, "hello you must be the Louis and Janel I been hearing so much about." He said. "I'm Christian." He extended his hand. Janel shook his hand seeing Louis wasn't.

"It's nice to meet you." She said.

"Same to you. My kids talk about you guys all the time." He laughed. Christian looked Louis over, "Louis, my wife told me you're going to be hard to crack. I'm down for a challenge." He said walking away.

"He looks young as hell," Janel said. "Not saying that you don't look young but he doesn't look he should have a fourteen year old child."

"Yeah, he is young," Sofia confirmed. "Let's go, Inéz and Iago are waiting for y'all."

"Christian's not that bad. You have to admit that." Janel said once she and Louis were alone. They had been chatting with Sofia and her family for an hour or so.

"I don't have to admit nothing," Louis said. Janel gave him a look, "I mean he's funny." He admitted. Christian then walks back into the room.

"Are you ready? For graduation. Sofia told me it's coming up." He said.

"Oh yeah. I'm ready." Louis replied.

"So what are you majoring in?"

"Probably journalism." Louis shrugged.

"That's good," Christian said. It kinda got awkward after that.

"Christian you should come to Louis's graduation." Janel broke the silence. "His girlfriend and my boyfriend and two of our other friends are graduating as well. I'm sure the other parents will be happy to meet you."

Louis knew that was a lie. Stephanie and Margie, James mother, were still pissed at Sofia leaving. They definitely wouldn't care for this man.

"I would love to come. If that's okay you, Louis."

"I don't care." Louis came out of his thoughts.

Christian nodded, "what do you like? I'm gonna get you a gift." He said.

"You don't need to do that. Really." Louis debunked.

"A car would probably be nice for him." Janel offered. Louis was confused as to why she did that. Louis didn't want this man spending money on him and he barely even knew him.

"A car? Okay. What kind?"

"I don't need you to get me a car. I'm completely fine with you getting me nothing." Louis said.

"Alright..." Christian said. He left the room again leaving Louis and Janel alone again.

"What is wrong with you?" Louis asked her.

"I thought you could use it. You deserve it."

"Well thank you, but I don't want anything from him," Louis said.

"Louis I'm really proud of you for making it this far. I honestly thought you would've dropped out by now."

"Wow thank you for believing in me," Louis said mocked.

It crossed Louis's mind that graduation was not that far away, like really close. Him and friends were getting ready to start a new chapter in their lives.

Is it gon turn out to be a good or bad thing?
