Today is the day that the group has been waiting for. Graduation was finally here!
All the seniors were arriving at the location of their graduation. Everyone was either excited or nervous while dispersing from the parent to go get ready and set up for the big day ahead.
"We will now be calling the students to walk across the stage." They started to call the names.... "Louis Cortez." Louis got up to walk across stage and truth be told he was nervous as fuck, the theater teacher signaled for him to smile. He rolled his eyes, Why is she even here? Stephanie's loud ass cheering bought him out his thoughts.
"James Denton." Was called a few names after Louis. "Phillip Henderson." Who crip walked to his diploma. "Zenai Jenkins." Zen huffed as she got up, she strictly told them not to say her government name. And lastly of the group, "Rebecca Moss."
When everyone was called to walk across the stage it was time for the school president and student of choice to give their speeches.
"Hey, y'all," Philly spoke after the president. "I just wanna say I'm proud of some y'all. And I say some because I don't really like half of y'all. But anyway, we have all been through a lot this year, and I mean a lot, but if we can make out of that shit we'll make it through everything." It was then Louis, James, Zen, and Rebecca even Janel knew Philly was talking to them. "I don't got that much to say, but, don't forget who had your back through thick and thin. The reals ones who stuck with you. Now... we finna turn up 'cause we out this bitch!" All the seniors cheered on for Philly. "One last thing... Pythagorean theorem was a useless subject to learn."
💛🎓 After Graduation 🎓💛
As the parents waited for their kids, Stephanie couldn't really ignore the fact Sofia was there with the man and his kids she left Louis and Janel for, "so Sofia are you going to introduce us to you husband and his family?" Margie, James's mother, nodded in agreement. Santana and Marc, James's father, shook their heads because they knew how this would end.
"Oh... well... this is Christian. This Inéz, Iago, and Dani." She pointed to them.
"Nice to meet you," Christian said confidently. Janel had given a little heads up about these moms. "Kids, no seas grosero. Hablar."
Translation: don't be rude. Speak.
The twins waved shyly at them. Thankful the group had come out saving the parents from this awkwardness. Janel ran up and hugged Louis as soon as she saw him.
"I'm so proud of y'all," Stephanie said.
"We know. We heard that loud yelling you was doing. Like you ain't even have to do all that." Philly said embarrassed. "The loudest one in the stands." Stephanie walked over and gave Philly dozens of kisses on his face.
While everyone was confronting their parents, Louis went over to his mom, "thank you for coming." He said.
"Of course, it makes up for all the time I missed," Sofia said. Louis gave her a hug. "I love you, Louis." Sofia eased into the hug.
"Okay Louis, Christian has a surprise for you." Janel clapped. They walked over to a BMW M340 with a big red bow on it.
"That bitch sexy ass fuck." Philly said.
"I told you not to get me anything," Louis said to Christian.
"Nigga if you don't take it I will." Philly cut Christian off. Christian handed Louis the keys.
Louis thought about it for a second, "thanks." He took them.
"Louis and Zenai can ride to the house together," Philly said. Zen mean mugged him. "Come on I'm ready to party."
Once they made it to Zen's home the party started. Stephanie was a bit upset at the fact that Sofia was invited. As the kids were in the backyard talking, the moms had their own talk. With no dads.
"I really wasn't expecting to see you at the graduation," Stephanie said to Sofia.
"Why not? Louis is my child." Sofia said.
"True, but was that not going through your head when you left him," Margie said. Stephanie nodded
"For real. Like you were out here living the good life with another man's kids." Stephanie said. Rebecca's mom was unaware of what all the drama was about.
"I think you've had to much wine," Sofia said.
"Nah ion think I had enough," Stephanie said. "How could you just leave like that?"
"I wasn't happy with Pablo. I didn't think he would hurt them. But I already had this conversation with my kids and I'm not explaining myself anymore." Sofia said.
"Fine. I just can't understand why?" Stephanie said.
~Meanwhile~
"Louis I still can't believe you're in a suit," James said. The rest of the group laughed because they could believe it either. They sat around a fire.
"Well, I did." Louis rolled his eyes.
"Can y'all believe we graduated?" Philly asked.
"No, I can't believe you graduated." Zen snickered.
"Shut up, Zenai," Philly said. "I didn't even know that was your real name." He laughed. No one knew except for Louis, there have been countless times where he made fun of her name.
"Shut the fuck up! And y'all bet not say anything!" She pointed at James, Janel, and Rebecca. James put his hand in surrender.
"You guys are really leaving me," Janel said. Tears came down her face. Philly pulled her into his lap and cradled her.
"We still got the whole summer, Nelly," James said.
"Yeah but after that. Then you guys are growing up so fast." Janel said.
"We're not going to forget about you if that's what you think. We all still be connected." Zen reassured.
"That's good." She smiled. They continued to talk about everything and what colleges they had chosen. James and Rebecca are going to UCLA, Philly going to Howard, and Louis and Zen are going to Mercer. They all had big plans and dreams. Janel was actually happy that they were all so happy, she'll just miss them.
"Zen and Philly come here I got a surprise for y'all." Santana came into the backyard.
Zen and Philly followed behind Santana, along with the rest of the kids, to the front of the house. The moms followed to see what was happening.
They were met with a Benz for both of them. "Is that for me?" Philly asked. Santana nodded. There weren't any harsh feeling between these two anymore. Philly was comfortable with Santa and the other way around. "Thank you!"
"Thank you, daddy." Zen hugging her father.
"James don't worry they got you a car too, bruh," Philly said to him.
"I hope so," James said.
The kids decided that they wanted to drive around the neighborhood in their new cars. They made it their business to have as much before it was time to separate. Especially for Janel.
