Chester's POV

We were about twenty minutes into our first date. It was amazing. She looked great, her dress hugged her body in all the right places. Her hair was perfectly curled and her shoes made her legs look amazing. But the best part about her appearance, wasn't any of those things. It was her eyes, the way every emotion was conveyed through her eyes. The way that her eyes sparkled in the light. The way her eyes lit up when she was laughing.

My mind couldn't accept the thought of me actually being on a date with her. It was like I was in some amazing fantasy land, or dream. I had to resist the urge to pinch myself to make sure I was in fact there.

We sat there for the rest of the night, laughing, chatting and reminiscing about Camp Takota. Everything was perfect. I payed for our meal and we walked out to the car. I didn't want to push my luck, by trying to hold her hand, knowing that things like that made her uncomfortable.

We got into the car, and pulled out of the parking lot.

"Thanks so much, Chester. That was a really nice dinner, I had fun." She said sincerely.

"I had fun too. " I said awkwardly. "Maybe we could do something like that again soon..."

She looked up at me "Yeah." She said, smiling. "I would really like that."

She looked down at her lap, clearly blushing. I gave her a big smile. She inched her hand towards mine, discreetly. I decided to get the courage up and I grabbed her hand softly, asking for permission. She laced her fingers into mine a looked up again and smiled, holding on tighter.

When we pulled into her driveway, I let go of her hand and got out of the car, as she did the same. I held her hand, walking her up to her front steps. I turned to face her, smiling.

"Thank you, Grace. That was by far the best first date I've ever had." I told her, still holding her hand.

She giggled "Ugh! You're so cheesy!" She said teasingly.

I leaned in and pressed my lips softly to hers. We stayed there for a few seconds before pulling away. She looked down at her shoes, blushing.

"Goodnight Grace." I said, giving her hand a light squeeze, before letting go.

" Goodnight Chester" she said sweetly. She stood there as a I pulled away, smiling.

As I drove off, I smiled to myself. I couldn't have been happier. I knew from that moment, that I couldn't afford to blow it with her. I needed to make this work. She was too good to let go.
