Chapter 10

Grace's POV

I closed the door after he had left. I walked calmly over to the couch and sat there staring at the wall for a good five minutes, letting what had just happened sink in. He had asked me out. I couldn't believe it, especially after what had happened earlier today. I decided to call Mamrie. I heard it ring a couple times before she picked up.

"Hellooo Grace Helllbiiig!" She greeted me cheerfully. "Sooo.. What's new?" She asked sarcastically.

"Mames, I'm just so happy!" I told her. "I can't believe it."

"So when's the first daaate?" She asked in a sing-song voice.

"This Friday.. At 7" I told her giddily. "So I have to start getting ready at 2, basically" I said laughing.

"Wow Gracie.. I'm so happy for you!" She said.

"Have you told Hannah, Mames?" I asked.

"No.. I figured that you would want to" She responded.

"Okay, I'm gonna call her now. Bye Mametown."

"Bye Smellbig!" She said giggling.

I dialed Hannah's number. She picked up after one ring.

"Hey Grace!" She said enthusiastically. "What's up?"

"Well I gotta tell you something.. It's kind of big news.." I said nervously. I didn't know how she was going to react.

"What is it Grace? Are you okay?" She said, clearly concerned.

"Oh! Yeah! It's not bad news! Sorry, it probably sounded bad." I said laughing. " I-I just wanted to tell you that ... Um.."

"Come on Gracie, you know you can tell me anything!" She said reassuringly.

"I-I-I umm, Ch-Chester asked me out.." I blurted out.

I could hear Hannah squeal. She calmed herself down quickly.

"Grace! That's great!!" She said excitedly.

I heard someone in the background talking "What happened?" The voice said. I recognized Swike's voice. "I don't know if I can tell you, babe.." Hannah said sarcastically. The two had dating for a few months now, and though Swike was quite a bit younger than Hannah, she was definitely the dominant one. "Give me the phone!" I heard Swike say. I heard shuffling noises.

"Hi Grace!" Swike said. "Sorry about that.." She said laughing.

I laughed and asked "Hannah wouldn't tell you?"

"No.." She said. "So what's the big news??"

"Well.. Chester asked me out.." I told her.

"And did you say yes?" She asked, intrigued.

"Well.. Yeah.."

"Oh my god Grace! That's great!" She said sweetly. "Are you gonna go public, or keep it hidden... Somehow.."

"Well, you know me, I don't like sharing personal stuff online. But Chester is a little bit more open.. So I don't know.." I answered uncertainly. "What do you think?"

"I mean, stick with your values, but it's not gonna be easy to keep it from your viewers. It's a miracle more of them don't know about Hannah's and my relationship..." Swike explained. "People are starting to notice though... I would know, I go through the Swarto tag" she laughed.

"Okay, thanks Swike." I said.

"Bye Grace"
