Chapter 11: Journey

"Do you know where Spikescale could be?" Comet asked

"I've heard legends of a hidden world where the dragons live." Ericka said.

"Me too." Atom said as he stopped walking.

"And do you happen to know where this 'hidden world' is?" Drac asked.

"It's hard to remember, but I think I know which way to go." He turned to face Ericka and stuck his hand out for her to take it. "Take my hand." He instructed.

"Um..why?" She asked.

"Just take my hand." He said. She shrugged and grasped his hand. Orange magic swirled around Atom and he morphed back into a Phoenix. But now he was big enough that four people could ride on his back. He made one of his wings touch the ground, "Ladies first." He said. She crossed her arms,

"I can fly you know." She said, turning into a bat. Comet ran up Atom's wing and sat at the base of his neck. Then they took off into the cloudy night.

They flew for a couple of hours, but then they started to get tired. Ericka was the first to stop flying, transform back to normal and rest on Atom's back. "Who knew flying was so tiring." She said, stretching her arms.

"It gets easier the longer you do it." Drac said, flying next to them.

"Easy for you to say," She said, "you'd been a vampire your whole life, and i'm just a newbie."

"You've been a vampire for about a year now." Drac said, transforming into human form and sitting behind her.

"That doesn't mean i'm any good at flying or hypnotizing people." She said, leaning back on him as if he were a reclining chair. He stroked her hair,

"I'm sure you'll get better." He cooed. Atom and Comet stuck our their tongues in disgust. She let out a relaxed sigh as she snuggled into him. To break up their moment, Atom got an idea. He just flew straight up and into the clouds with no warning. After recovering from their state of shock, Drac and Ericka unleashed their anger on Atom,

"WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!" Ericka yelled.

"Look up."Atom said. She looked up and her mouth gaped open. Millions and millions of little stars twinkled above in the dark night. There were little clusters of stars, and lone stars, even some shooting stars. You could even see some of the milky way. "Climb onto my head," Atom said, "you'll be able to see more." She stood on top of his head and felt the wind rush through her hair. The other joined her shortly after.

"It really is beautiful up here." Drac said.

"It is." She said, standing closer to him. Comet looked at Atom's eye.

"Great idea," Comet said sarcastically, "bring the two lovebirds up to one of the most ROMANTIC PLACES ON EARTH!" Atom rolled his eyes but said nothing.

"How come you've never taken me above the clouds?" Ericka asked Drac. He froze,

"Uuuhh, I knew you weren't experienced enough," He said, "but we're here now aren't we?" He took of his cape and draped it over Comet's antlers.

"Really dude?" Comet said, but Drac ignored him.

"Just do what i do." Drac said like a fitness instructor. He stood at the edge of Atom's head and fell backwards. She peeked over the edge and saw him skimming the clouds. Comet nudged her closer to the edge as he came up to them. "It's easier than it looks." He said, holding his hand out for her to take it. She reached out to take his hand, but at the last second; he pulled his hand back and she fell. She fell like a bird that just got shot and plummeted towards the clouds. She curled into a tiny ball and waited to feel the icy water of the ocean below, but instead she felt something cottony touch her hand. She was laying on the clouds.
