"Hey." Luca smiled at me and pecked me on the lips.
"I missed you." I muttered, wrapping my arms around his waist and leaning my head on his chest.
My anxiety was getting the worst of me these days. I wouldn't stop eating, wouldn't stop pacing around in my apartment. The times I thought about going to see Luca and refraining afterwards because I didn't want to be annoying were uncountable. I knew why I was acting like that.
Apart from having a test this week, it was the feeling I had around Luca after we came from Iceland. We didn't see each other for the whole week but he didn't even try to. He would normally come over, or meet me after work. This time he didn't. We talked on the phone just twice and talked about meeting on Friday. I didn't wanna be dramatic over the fact that he didn't tried to hang out with me before that day, however, this weird feeling that he somehow was avoiding me, came here to stay.
"I missed you too. I've been hella busy." He licked his lips and scratched the back of his neck, his other hand rubbing my back softly.
"What have you-"
"It's just boring stuff about the sale of the house, the will..." he averted his gaze when I pulled away. "Wanna go grab some food?"
I nodded. After I put on my jacket, I closed the door. He took my hand and we got out of the building.
"Are you coming to Ace's party tomorrow?"
"Yeah. 25, right?" I asked, referring to his age.
"Uh-huh."
"When is your birthday?" I asked stopping in my trucks.
"I can't believe you don't know when it is." He chuckled.
"I know! I'm feeling so bad right now, please tell me it hasn't already passed."
Luca wrapped an arm around my shoulders, making me walk again. "It was yesterday."
"What?" I stopped once again.
Luca laughed and kissed the top of my head. "I'm joking, Riri. It's in July."
"What day?"
"Wednesday."
"I'm not finding this funny at all." I retorted.
He laughed another time, this time harder than before. "It's July 18th." He smiled at my expression and pulled me against him. "Keep walking, why do you stop? You're disrupting people's paths."
"Because you keep messing around with me!"
"I don't know what you're talking about- Look, sushi."
I glanced up at the restaurant where, no matter what my opinion on the subject was, we were going to eat.
I sighed and let him pull me inside. "I hate you."
"No, you don't."
"Yes, I do."
"Okay, but just a little bit, right?" He asked, an innocent boyish expression on his face.
"No. Actually a lot."
"Come on, Ri-"
"Hello, table for two?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Wakey wakey!"
Luca groaned beside me and I managed to open one eye at the familiar voice.
I opened it just in time to see a mope of blond hair jumping into the bed between Luca and me, actually crushing Luca with his weight. He groaned even louder. "What the fuck-"
