"You look good." Luca pointed out with a smirk, checking me out as I took off my coat.

"You too, Luca. You look amazing." I teased, staring at him with dreamy eyes as I blinked several times, recalling our conversation from a few days ago.

"Shut the fuck up." He laughed, sitting down after taking off his jacket, his shirt pressing against his arms, making me doze off for a moment.

He frowned. "You don't sit?"

"Y-yes." Feeling my face warm, I glanced down, trying to shield my face with my fangs as I pulled my chair back.

"Are you feeling better?"

"To be honest, no." I sincerely replied, making a face. Of course I wasn't any better. Being around this demigod of a man didn't help. My heart thumping against my chest hard just with the sight of his car outside my building.

"We should've stayed home." He said giving me a pity look.

"I don't think that would've-"

"Can I take your order?" A middle aged server with a really funny mustache asked.

"Yes." Luca nodded. "I'll have the pepperoni pizza."

The server nodded and looked at me. "And for the lady?"

"I'll have the Caesar salad." I responded after I looked down at the menu.

We ordered a bottle of wine and the man left, leaving a very surprised Luca staring at me.

"Wow," he opened his eyes a little wider, "you must be really sick."

"I'm not very hungry." I shrugged looking around.

Luca talked about everything and anything and I listened to him amazed. I loved the way he made you part of his story, the way he was fascinated by almost everything he saw and did. How passionate and determined he was. He told me about a trip to Sweden he would have to make next week. He usually had to travel with the team, but one or two days long, just around the country. Now it was a week long, since they had a championship in Europe.

"What did you guys do today?" He asked, taking a big bite of his pizza. "Ace was a little mad, he said that now that he got Martina back from Spain, you're taking her from him." He chuckled.

I gave him a small smile and shrugged. "I was in need of a friend."

"Hey." He placed a hand on mine as he raised his eyebrows. "I'm your friend too."

Withdrawing my hand as if it burnt, I swallowed bitterly. "Yeah, I know that."

As if you didn't repeat it ten times a day.

After we finished dinner, we went for a walk. The city at night was beautiful and I hadn't seen it yet. The only times I went out at night were to go to some random party at someone's house, or just to Luca's. And the mall where I used to work, to see the Christmas lights that Ashley told me were beautiful.

"You're quiet." He stated, hands in his pockets.

"It's not like I usually say much." I chuckled before licking my lips.

"Yeah, but I don't know." He scratched the back of his head, raising his shoulders. "You were talking more lately. Like, you were more comfortable." He stopped talking as he narrowed his eyes and glanced at me. "Do you know what I mean?"

I nodded as I kept my gaze focused on my feet. "Hmh."

"Riley." He stopped walking and grabbed my arm. "Is everything okay?"
