"What would you think about us getting married?"

My whole body froze. I stared at Spencer, bug-eyed. I was going into a state of panic.

'Is he serious?'

"M-married?" I stammered.

"Yes, marriage. We're old enough and young enough to get married. Why not?" he smiled.

"Spencer... we've only known each other for nine months, I-"

"You don't want to marry me?" he asked, cutting me off.

He pulled away from me, walking to the balcony. He turned away from me completely.

"I'm not saying that, Spence," I replied.

"Then what are you saying?" he snapped.

"Please look at me," I said quietly.

He finally turned to face me again. I could see tears threatening to slip down his face. I felt like a total bitch.

"I'm scared, Spence. What if something happens again? I don't want to hurt you," I explained calmly, trying desperately not to cry.

"Jessica, you're lucky I love you... because if I didn't, I'd say you're a total idiot in the harshest way possible."

I looked at Spencer in shock. He had never spoken to me like this before. I was both offended and turned on, to be honest.

"We've been through hell together, Jess. I don't think you'll ever hurt me more than almost dying on me," he chuckled.

"Hey! That wasn't my fault, jackass," I snapped, trying to hide my smile.

"Come here," he smiled at me.

I walked over to him and he pulled me into a hug, kissing my forehead, then my nose, then my lips.

"Well?"

"Yes."

Spencer picked me up and spun me in a circle, pulling me closer to his body. He put me down on the ground again. He nuzzled his face between my neck and shoulder.

"I love you, Jessica Morgan... even though sometimes you can be incredibly incorrect," he chuckled.

"And I love you, Spencer Reid... even though you're a total nerd. But hell, I'm marrying you anyway."
