22~Not letting you die

Caleb's POV

As I walked out I heard a squeal so I went back in her room to see her jumping around but came to a complete stop when she saw me "I forgot this..." I lied grabbing nothing but air and walking out "That was cute" I yelled smiling to myself. When I got home I heard a glass smash "Shit!" My mother screamed in pain, now she may treat me badly but deep inside I still care slightly. I ran to the kitchen, she was on the ground crying with blood pooling around her.

"W-what happened!?" I asked frantically running up to her but she rose her foot and pushed it against my stomach and I fell backwards groaning "Go away! Let me die in peace!" She screamed, oh god, oh god, oh god she did this on purpose "Mum...why did you do this to yourself" I whispered, she looked at me and for the first time in a long time she looked at me with something that's not anger, disappointment it was something more like sorrow.

"Caleb...i'm going to tell you something no one knows, I get abused at work out in public by these certain people and im not talking about the abuse where they hit me its another abuse as well....But I have to, for the money for your school and your life and when your sister was here... As this went on they made me believe it was your fault, I grew cold towards you I know...And I just needed to tell you im sorry I should have never done that, now im at the brim of the death and I just needed you to know" She paused sobbing lightly "I-I just n-needed you to k-know!" she cried

"Im not letting you die" I said sternly getting back up holding my stomach, I wobbled towards and and sat grabbing her arm to look. The large cuts weren't vertical so she could get them stitched up no problem, I grabbed my phone and called 000

"Hello, whats your emergency" A lady asked

"I need an ambulance! My my mum she shes bleeding a lot he tried to commit suicide just get some one please" I told her the address and she said an ambulance was on the way. "Okay mum you need to stay with me" I said grabbing a tea towel and held it against her arm, she hissed in pain. "If we are being open here.... I've tried to do this too four times actually" I mumbled, her glassy eyes shot up to look at me

"It was because of me wasn't it....I was going to be the cause of my own sons death" She cried out hugging me close to her "No...im bullied at school, im depressed mum....and only one girl has tried to help me" I said with a small smile, her breathing got lighter but faster "Stick w-with her...once day you will be a-able to tell me about her...I love you okay Caleb, so much and I am so so sorry" She whispered before her eyes shut

"NO!" I screamed, the door was opened and 3 men came in, my mind got hazey and I could barely hear anything all I know is I need to stay by my mum, by her side. One of the guys tried to pull me away and I just screamed at him to let me go. Then I felt that light headed I blacked out.

When I woke up I was in an ambulance, everything came back to me and I sat up "Whoa whoa kid, you need to calm down okay I will take you to your mother now" I nodded and followed close behind him. "Sit here the doctor should be out shortly" I sat down silently and waited, I grabbed my phone and thought. Should I call Kristina?

Maybe later. After about 5 minutes a man who looked like he was in his 40's came out "You her son?" I nodded not wanting to speak because I knew I could break out in tears any moment now. "Your mother has lost a very large amount of blood but she is okay..." I let out a big sigh of relief "She will needed to stay here for up to three weeks and you can go in now if you like" I whispered a thank you and ran into the room. I sat on the seat beside her bed, she was asleep so it was silent.

The sound of the heart monitor beeped silently "Im sorry I couldn't help you...." I whispered holding her hand tightly, the tears started to form and slide down "I should have known, I should have known and helped you! Why didn't you tell me...." I whimpered

Beep......Beep.......Beep......

"You are going to be okay, and we will talk about this help each other and live a better life I swear" I cried brokenly letting go of her hand

Beep.......Beep.....Beep...Beep ..Beep.. Beep Her heart picked up and her eyes shot open wide she looked confused for a second then looked at me, then...she cried and I cried with her.

We have been talking for a while and it was nice with her not yelling at me "Tell me about that girl..." She whispered looking up at the ceiling "Her name is Kristina...you met her once while you were drunk but she is beautiful, kind and makes me happy...She actually left her friends so she could be mine" I saw my mum smile lightly closing her eyes

"Im glad someone was there when I wasn't...I think I would like to meet her....again while sober" She said happily, she shuffled over on the bed and patted the available space next to her. I grin and laid next to her and hugged her tightly "I missed you" I whispered, she rubbed my back

"Im sorry Caleb, I wont ever hurt you again....I promise"

im flying on a plane to see my grandma for mothers day yay! :D
