-Brooke-

"Why isn't she awake?" A panicked voice asked, cutting through my unconscious state. The hell?

"The doctor said her blood sugar was really low," Another voice answered. "You gotta give her time to wake up."

"She's going to be okay," A feminine voice spoke.

"God this is all my fault," The first voice--which I now recognized as Colby's--whimpered. I must have groaned because they all gasped.

"Oh my God, Brooke?" Sam's voice asked. I peeled my eyes open and squinted against the lights of a hospital room. What in the world happened?

"Oh thank God," Colby breathed next to me. I blinked a few times before reaching a hand up to rub the blurriness from my eyes. Colby lifted a hand and started smoothing my hair back. I felt a weight on my left arm and tried to lift it, but winced a bit when I realized there was an IV.

"What in the world happened?" I mumbled, my head just beginning to clear a little.

"Do you remember what happened?" Kat asked, sitting on the bed. I rubbed my head a moment before the memories came to me.

"I was being an idiot," I groaned.

"We all were," Sam smiled. I looked at Colby and he smiled gently.

"How are you feeling?" He asked. "Can you sit-"

I grabbed his arm when a thought came to mind. "The baby-"

"Is fine," He quickly reassured me, removing my hand from his arm and holding it gently. "Still healthy."

I exhaled shakily. "Thank God."

There was a knock at the door, and a doctor walked in. He smiled when he saw that I was awake.

"Brooklyn," He greeted, walking over. Kat got up from her spot and came around the other side of the bed--out of the way of the doctor. He sat down on a stool and moved it up to the side of the bed Kat had just vacated.

"You must be my doctor," I smiled a bit.

"Dr. Thompson." He shook my hand gently.

"How long have I been out?" I asked.

"A couple hours," He answered. Not as bad as I feared. "Your blood sugar was incredibly low when you came in. When your husband here told me that you were pregnant, it made a little more sense." He said husband, but neither of us corrected him. We basically were married by this point, just not officially.

"I guess you see stuff like this a lot," I chuckled. He nodded.

"Not every women who get's pregnant the first time goes through this, but my guess is that you're going to have a hard time the first trimester," He explained. "It could mean you'll end up with gestational diabetes by the second trimester, but it could clear up completely and you're next two trimesters will go smoothly."

"What do you mean?"

"So, with pregnancy your body is going through a lot of changes. You're growing a whole human inside of you. A lot of your nutrients is going to the baby to help with growth, so your iron levels are low, your blood pressure is low, your blood sugar is low, everything is low for your body right now because it's going to the baby to support its growth," He explained. "I'm gonna prescribe some prenatal supplements, with iron, to help stabilize things. If you can get your blood pressure checked regularly then that would be good too. If it continues to remain low throughout the rest of this week, call your doctor and they might be able to prescribe something to help."
