-Brooke-

"I promise to visit as much as I can," I whispered softly, sitting at my dad's side. He was holding my hand as we talked quietly. My flight leaves early tomorrow to go back home. I have videos to record while Mikey is out of commission, despite the circumstances, life still moves on and I'm stuck having to give into its demands.

"I know you will," Dad smiled, his thumb playing with my wedding band. "Don't worry about me Brooke."

"Of course I'm gonna worry about you," I whispered, my voice shaking. "It's my job as your daughter."

"And my job as your father is to tell you that everything will be okay."

I shook my head. "Don't worry about what happens after. That's not up to you."

"It's always my job," He chuckled. "Even death can't take away fatherhood. I'm always gonna be there for you Brooke. No matter what happens to me."

"Don't talk like that," I shook my head. "That's not what I want to focus on. I wanna focus on the good times."

"I love you, my dear," He kissed my hand. I kissed his hand back.

"I love you too, Dad."

"Goodnight, Brooklyn Amelia Brock." I smiled as he said my full name.

"Goodnight dad."

I kissed his cheek before leaving his room to let him rest for the night. Stella had just come up the stairs as I closed the door. She smiled at me gently and opened her arms to me. I accepted her hug gratefully.

"He loves you so much," She whispered.

"He loves you too," I told her, holding her tight in my arms. "Never doubt that for a second."

She nodded and we swayed a little before pulling away. She cradled my face in her hands a moment before going into her and dad's bedroom. Alex wasn't here. He went back to his mom's house for the night, I said goodbye to him earlier.

I went into Sky's room, and saw her sitting at her desk. She was looking up something on her laptop and writing notes in her notebook.

"What are you up to?" I asked. She jumped and turned to look at me.

"Jesus you scared me," She breathed, putting a hand to her chest.

"Sorry," I giggled and sat on her bed. "So what are you up to?"

She looked at her screen and sighed, then looked at me. "I'm looking up dance schools."

My eyebrows raised in interest. "Really?"

She nodded. "I like hip-hop, but I wanna expand my knowledge on dance. I wanna learn a bunch of different kinds and become a professional. I don't know if I want to do performance or education but I know I wanna learn dance."

I smiled at her. "I'm proud of you, squirt."

She scratched her head awkwardly. "Thanks...I'm just looking right now. I probably won't start anything until maybe this time next year."

"I look forward to it," I grinned. She giggled, but I watched as her smile slowly faded from her face.

"Something wrong?" I asked. She met my eyes briefly before looking back at her hands.

"Do you really have to go?"

"You want me to stay?" I asked. She thought for a long time, before releasing a deep sigh.

"No...I want you to go home...for your sake and the babies' sake. I guess it's strange that Washington isn't your home anymore. LA is."

"For now," I admitted. "But Washington is still home. It's familiar." She thought another moment then met my eyes.
