"Bentley!" I called out, and he came trotting over from around the side of the house. It's been about 3 months since Colby and I moved in with some of our friends. Kat, Sam, Tara, Jake, Corey, and his girlfriend, May, all moved in with us. It's a house full of couples, yes, but it's temporary. We've only got a lease on the house for a year, it was something we wanted to do while Colby and I are planning our wedding, our closest friends right here to help us.

I closed the door when Bentley came in and walked back out to the living area. Kat was sat on her phone, Tara was laying upside down on the love sack with her eyes closed. I tightened my sweater around my body and leaned in the door way. I coughed, getting their attention. And I wish it was a dramatic cough, but it was genuine. I'm getting sick--lucky me.

Kat looked up from her spot and smiled. "Hey."

"Hey," I greeted, clearing my throat.

"Still coughing?" She asked with a pout. I nodded.

"I'm starting to think this is more than just a sinus infection," I sighed, rubbing my head.

"You were a nurse, can't you tell what's going on?" Tara asked, peeking an eye open at me.

"First off, I was a nurse AIDE. Second off, what in the world are you doing?" I asked. She shrugged and closed her eyes again.

"Meditating."

"I don't think that's how you-oh never mind," I sighed and walked over, sitting on the couch. I held the bridge of my nose between my index finger and thumb, sighing. I jumped when a hand went over my forehead. I opened my eyes and looked at Kat.

"You feel warm," She said. "Are you sure you shouldn't go to the doctor?"

I nodded. "I'll be fine, I'm sure this will pass."

"That's what they all say," Tara said next to me. I peaked over the armrest and looked at her. She didn't move.

"When are the guys getting back?" I asked, turning back to Kat.

"Sam said they won't be getting back until late," She answered. "The interview is in San Diego, so it's a long drive there and back."

I groaned. "I hoped Colby and I could do more wedding planning. I didn't realize it was in San Diego."

"Didn't he tell you that?" Tara asked, startling me.

"Uh, yeah," I muttered. "He did actually."

Kat gave a weird look. "You forgot?"

I groaned louder and buried my face in my hands. "I forgot!"

Bentley barked once scaring me, and I looked up. He was stood at the door, crouched defensively. He wasn't growling, then again he never growls. Bentley is easily the most laid back dog to exist, he only barks when he feels like he has to, which is when he needs my attention for something. And even then, it's a singular bark, enough to get me to see what's up. He's not aggressive or territorial unless he's protecting me, so to see him getting defensive like this, it concerned me.

"What's Bentley barking at?" Tara asked, sitting up.

"I don't know," I mumbled. I stood up and walked over to Bentley, patting his side. He didn't even look at me. Weird.

"Bentley, what is it?" I asked. He continued glaring at the door, so I walked over and started to open it.

"Wait!" A voice yelled for me to stop. I turned around to see May racing down the stairs.
