LUKE'S POV
We were filming one of our Dare Sundays video, the cheese burger challenge where we had to eat as much burger as we could. It was a beautiful day, but Rachel and Beau were getting pretty comfortable around us.
The last month, they have been secret about their relation. Rachel never talked to me about it and it kind of made me sad. I felt like if I was slowly loosing her. She was my bestfriend after all, she should be able to open up to me and confess the truth about their realtionship status.
At some point we figured it out. They were always together, holding eachother's hand and kissing here and there. I wasn't jealous of Beau, even if he was always the one that the girls see. I once was in love with Rachel, she actually was my first real love. I got over it because I knew it wasn't the same for her.
I finally won the challenge, ending up feeling sick. I ate way too much, I lost the count.
"No more cheeseburger for a while!" I said and everybody laugh.
Rachel was cleaning the filming spot, where there was some vomit and all our garbages so I took this oportunity to go talk with her.
"Hey!" I said. She looked up to me and smiled.
"Hey, are you feeling better?" She asked, talking about my stomach.
"Yeah, well I think I'll just skip diner tonight!" It made her laugh.
I really didn't know how to question her without getting her mad. Rachel went back to cleaning as she put the dirty papers into a plastic bag.
"Rach.. I want to know what's going on between you and Beau." I decided to go straight to the point.
Rachel froze and took a moment to think about it. She then stood up and face me.
"I don't know." Was her answer. I rolled my eyes.
"Common, Rachel! It's me, Luke, you can tell me everything!" I insisted.
"No, I mean, I really don't know. Beau and I never talk aboit that. We just let things go."
That was so weird.
I decided to stop thinking about them, because our group of friends didn't seem to be really affected by them. Also, I left because Beau just came back, wrapping his arms around her waist from the back.
"Ew, you stink, Beau!" She laughed.
"You don't like my new fragrance? Cheeseburger sensual?!"
RACHEL'S POV
I was at school, it was lunch time and I was hanging with my usual friends. I was sitting with Josie and Lea, as the boys were playing with their food, on the other side of the table.
"Rachel Edwards, please go meet the principal in his office. I repeat, Rachel Edwards must go to the principal's office, thank you." The robotic voice called my name.
The cafeteria went silence. I had never been to the principal's office so my heart started to pound in my chest. He was an intimidating tall man, with no hair and large shoulders. I looked at my friends, who were as confused as me. I stood up and, feeling every eyes on me as I walked to the doors, left the cafeteria.
The principal closed the door behind me and told me to take a seat. He slowly walked to his desk, making the suspens and nervousness eating me from the inside.
"I am sure you are wondering why you are sitting in my office!" He said with his low voice.
I nodded, shyly smiling.
"Don't be scared, you did nothing wrong."
I sighed, and felt like if a hundred pounds just fell off my shoulders.
"Rachel, I am proud to announce you that, so far, you are the best student of the Senior year. Your grades are all at the top and the teachers all love you." He said.
"Wow, thank you!" I answered, speachless.
"You are here today because I just recieved something for you." He handed me an envelop, with my name on it.
I took it, hesitant but finally openned it. When I read the letter, I didn't understand.
"What is that?" I asked, completely confuse.
"You have been accepted to represent the school , in an imersion program in Paris!" The principal announced me. His face wasn't scary at all. He was smiling from ear to ear, clearly proud.
"But... I never sent my inscription! It must be a mistake..."
"There is no mistake. I sent your application, because they only select the best students in the world. With more then ten thousand inscriptions, they only select 30 students for the program. You are part of it."
In the world!? On 30 on 10,000!?
"We have already contacted your tutor, Gina, and she was really happy for you, and hopes that you'll accept. Now, you only have to say yes!"
This was going so fast. I couldn't think about it!? My minds were all confused.
"You have to know that you don't have to pay for anything. It's all covered by the school."
I spent the afternoon in the office of the principal, as he tried to convince me to go. I couldn't stop thinking about Beau... Six months away from him... It was a lot.
