"I bet you can't make her fall in love with you" Selena, my best friend whispered and she pointed at (Y/N) with her pen.
She was sitting a few tables away from us, she was paying attention to our english teacher. She moved here a few months ago from England and she barely talks to anyone.
"I'm sure you can't but let's make a deal. If you make her fall in love with you in 3 months and then you break up with her in front of everyone at the prom, I will go on a date with you" Sophie said.
I have had the biggest crush on her since the first day of high school and she knows it but she never seemed to care.
"Okay, I'll do it" Sophie smiled then held out her hand and I shook it.
I turned back to Selena who had a frown on her face.
"What?"
"I don't think it's a good idea. She has feelings too, Taylor. And she didn't do anything wrong. Just because Sophie dosen't like her, (Y/N) dosen't deserve to be humiliated."
"C'mon Selena. It will be fun."
"Don't say I didn't warn you" the brunette sighed and started to pay attention to the class.

I was standing in front of my locker talking with Selena about a random guy she has a crush on.
"Anyways, I gotta go. Abel wants to meet me" I rolled my eyes playfully at her.
"Don't forget to tell me everything" she nodded her head, gave me a hug and walked away.
I packed my things and was about to leave the school when I saw (Y/N) putting her books in her locker. She was beautiful. She wore black, skinny jeans with a knitted, white hoodie. Her hair was up in a ponytail and she had no makeup on her. She pulled out her phone and - I assume - she looked at the time. It was almost 3 pm.
"You don't have to check it, we're finished for today" I walked up to her. She looked at me and giggled.
"I was checking the time because I wanted to talk with my best friend. She lives in London so.. you know. It's hard not to be in the same time zone."
"Oh, I'm so sorry. I totally forgot about that."
"You're totally fine, it happens. I'm (Y/N), by the way" she took a few steps in my direction and waved a little.
I smiled at her cuteness and waved back. "I'm Taylor. It's so nice to finally hear you speak. We have almost every class together and we've never talked before."
"I'm still trying to fit in, to be honest."
"It's okay. I understand" I smiled at her.
"I should go home..." she started but I didn't let her finish.
"Are you hungry? I could show you my favorite restaurant in the city if you're interested."
"Oh, uhm. Sure"
"I love your accent, by the way" I smiled at her and watched as she blushed.
This girl's going to fall for me harder than I thought and I can finally take Sophie out on a date. I've been waiting for it since I first saw her on the hallway.

"So, why did you move to New York?" I asked (Y/N) and took a bite of my pizza.
"I'm only here for one year. I'm an exchange student."
"Wow, I didn't know that. What do you think about the USA so far?"
"It's nice. It's different but nice. Actually, I can't wait for this whole prom thing. I've heard a lot about it and seen it in the movies but we don't have it in England. I look forward to it." she smiled shyly and drank the water she had.
"It's the best thing, trust me" I felt guilty, poor girl seems so excited for the prom.
Maybe Selena was right and it's not going to be that funny. But there's no going back now. Plus, I really want this Sophie thing to work out.
We talked for a while. She's actually pretty smart and it's so easy to talk with her. I guess this 3 months won't be as bad and boring as I thought.
