Adam's POV

School was out for the Summer. I kinda liked the new feelings of the sunshine hitting my tail as it wagged like a dog's tail. I looked for my friends. Maaz already ran out of school as Rebecca and Jaiden were looking for him. I looked around and saw James behind me.

"Jameson were you looking at my tail?" I asked him. His face got redder as he shyly nodded. "It's alright. It's a pretty good tail." I said wagging it again. We caught up with everyone else as we thought about summer.

"I'm gonna get my homework done super early so I can have more fun this year." Rebecca said.

"Same here. My parents said we're going back to Australia for a month or two." Maaz said looking really excited.

Jaiden looked at James and I, who were holding hands. At this point it was a force of habit. "So how's the couple gonna spend there break."

My face heated up and I looked back at James. He was red again but he was smiling. "Don't know yet, maybe practice my guitar playing and draw more."

"Really you guys aren't going on another date?" Maaz teased.

"It wasn't a date guys! I just wanted to hang out with James to thank him. I don't like James that way!" I said. When I looked over at James I saw he looked sad. Did I hurt his feelings?

He was sad for the rest of the way home. I walked with him again and he just looked really bummed out. "Hey, Jameson," I said trying to start up a conversation, "You alright?"

"Y-yeah. I'm fine." he looked like he was about to cry.

"James.... don't lie to me. Tell me what's wrong."

James'POV

To be honest, I was really hurt when Adam said he didn't like me in 'the way' I told my friends I had a crush on him a while ago.  I can remember there positivity about it.

"Aww, you guys would be cute together!" Jaiden said patting me on the back.

"So when are you gonna tell him?" Rebecca asked.

"I don't know. Maybe, if he asks me out again." I told them. "He took me out on a date."

"Woah, congrats James!"

The more I thought about it tears formed in my eyes. Adam didn't think of it as a date. He didn't like me. Adam's not into me, I'm just his friend. Those tears started running down my face. I was crying now.

Adam pulled me into a hug and patted my head. "Jameson, don't cry." I just hugged him back. I wanted him so bad I loved him so much. But I would never have him, he's too good for me.

"James? Did I hurt you when I was talking about not liking you?" he asked. I just nodded my head and sighed.

"Jameson, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you feel bad about our date. We had an awesome time and it was great and I would really like to do it again. We should hang out more this summer, just the two of us. What do you think?" Adam asked.

"I think that's a great idea. Let's start today." I said. Adam held my hand again and we walked into my house. We played some video games and my mom put out snacks. It was awesome.
