"Favorite song." I hum. "I don't think I have one, you?" I watch Bart skip another rock. "I don't either, how about... favorite color?" I rest my head on his shoulder. "Bart?" He hums. "Thank you, for taking me away from my family arguing." He shrugs. "It's no problem, you shouldn't have to be around especially after what you been through." I intwine my hand with his. "We will always be friends, right?" He doesn't respond. "Bart?" I squeal when he tackles me on the ground. "Bart, what are you doing?" He slides his hands in mine and intwine them as he moves them above my head. "It depends, do you want us to stay just friends?" I tilt my head. "What do you mean?" He sighs getting up. "Never mind, you want ice cream?" I smile nodding. I hold his hand as we leave the park. "Let's go to central city, they have the best ice cream there." I let go of his hand. "I can't, I can't leave the city." His showed curiosity instead of disappointment. "You want to tell me why? Does this have to do with your little secret your family is keeping?" I nod. "It's ok, just stay right here and I will be back in before you can blink." He runs off and is back with mint chocolate chip. "I got your favorite." I smile taking the ice cream. "Thank you." I look up at the night sky. "Rogue." Bart runs a finger on my cheek. "You had ice cream on your cheek, I'm surprised you didn't feel it." He run his finger with the ice cream over my lips. I lick his finger clean blushing, his cheeks turn red. "Damn. Uhm... after ice cream I should get you home." I take his hand. "Stay tonight again?" He kiss the back of my hand. "If your siblings let me." I laugh. "No boy has ever been close to me, you're the only one who came close. I wish my brothers would stop treating me like a baby. My sisters try to give me some type of freedom, but my brother want to lock me away from the world. Which they do anyway." I mumble the last part. "Well if it bothers you so much you should tell them." I quickly shake my head at his crazy suggestion. "My brothers would fall apart if I tell them. It will break their hearts." He hums. "They're that sensitive? Sucks to be you." "Yea no kidding." He smiles. "Maybe you can show and prove to them that you're growing up and don't need to be babied all the time." "That might work. It wouldn't hurt to try."

After our ice cream instead of going home we sat at the park a little longer since it's not too late. "We never hung out this long together without anyone interrupting us." I lean on his shoulder. "I want to stay with you forever." He laughs. "Forever is a long time." I get in his lap straddling him. "Yes but, it's better than feeling trap, at least I can try to be myself around you and feel free. You're the only person that makes me feel free." I say tears threatening to fall. "Rogue..." He moves a strand of hair out my face. My tears fall on his chest. "I feel like they keep me prisoner sometimes, I'm not allowed to have actual fun like the kids and it's not fair!" He leans in inching closer. His lips brush against mine. "How free do you want to be? How badly do want that feeling to go away?" My ears go back, his lips slowly press against mine then, my phone rings. "Hello?" "Home now, it's getting late." I sigh hanging up the phone. "I have to go home." I get off of him. We finish our ice cream and he takes me home.

"Rogue, are you ok, we're sorry about earlier we didn't mean to bother you with our argument about your teacher." I shake my head. "I'm ok now." Dick looks at Bart. "Thanks, Bart, for keeping her away from the chaos." He smiles. "it's no problem." While they talk I go to my room changing into my pajamas and lay in bed. "Hey, tired already?" Bart sits on the edge of my bed. "Lay with me? I don't want to be alone." He gets up taking his baggy shorts off and his shirt. He slides into bed with me and I cuddle into him. "You're warm." He smiles. "Thanks, your hands are cold." I pull them back from his chest. "Im sorry." He takes them in his hand. "It's fine, I just have to warm them up for you." I blush when he pulls me closer into him. "Comfortable?" I nod resting my head on his chest I listen to his heart beat. "It's fast, faster than usual. Are you ok? Should I get dad to check on you?" He laughs. "No I'm fine my heart just speeds up a little more sometimes. It will slow down in a bit." I continue to listen to his heartbeat and I drift off too sleep.

I wake up still in Barts arm. "Bart." I whisper. His eyes slowly open. "Hey." A knock is at my door and Bart quickly gets up, grabbing his clothes and go out my window. My door opens. "Hey, we're going to the amusement park today if you want to come join us?" I nod smiling. I get out of bed after Kate closed the door. I go through my out fits and choose a tank top and shorts, something easy and cool to wear. Once I freshened up I go down the stairs, walking down the long hall and to the dining area where everyone is sat. "Morning Rogue, how you sleep?" "I slept ok." Duke pass me a plate of food. Dad continues to look at me then sighs. "Rogue, are you happy?" I look at him surprised. "Ye-yes." I could never tell them the truth, it will hurt them.
