Chapter 1 - Violet

Violet's P.O.V.

My name is Violet Redfield. I'm 18 years old, and I'm a singer. I live with my mom, Prudence, and my dad, Scott. I don't have any siblings because I'm an only child.

Anyway, let's talk about the friends I have in my life. Well, I actually have one friend who's always been there for me. His name is Todd Foster, and he's always been like a brother to me.

To start off my story, the year is 1963, and I'm writing my first song. Usually when it comes to songwriting, I like to write love songs. This song that I've just finished writing is one that took me a while to figure out the music I want. I couldn't decide between using the piano or the guitar. My decision was final after I immediately decided on playing my guitar. So I started strumming it as I sang my heart out to my song.

After I finished singing, I thought to myself that I'd sing this song if I ever find my true love. My parents entered the room, snapping me out of my thoughts. "That sounded beautiful, sweetie." Said my mom. "Have you ever thought about performing onstage?" Asked my dad. "Yeah, but I'm not ready for that yet." I said. "Oh, honey, you're an amazing singer. You should definitely consider singing live." My dad said. "Yeah. Give it a shot sometime." My mom said. "You two are right. I'll definitely give live performances a chance at some point." I said. "That's our girl!" Said my mom with a smile.

My parents left me alone again so I could write more songs. I wrote three more and got the music ready for them. I even thought about what my parents said about performing live and considered it.
