Todd's P.O.V.

As Paul was rushed to the hospital, Violet and I piled into my car as we followed the ambulance. When we got there, the two of us anxiously sat in the waiting room until the doctor came in.

"Oh, Doctor! How is he?!" Asked Violet in a panic. "Well, we still can't find a cure to help Mr. McCartney's Rotterdam's. However, there is one remedy that might work." Said the doctor. "How?" I asked. "First of all, Mr. McCartney has a rare blood type, O negative." The doctor said. "O negative blood?" Violet and I both said. "Yes. Do any of you two have that blood type?" Asked the doctor.

Violet stands up. "I volunteered at a blood drive once, and I happen to have O negative blood." She said. "Perfect! Would you be willing to donate blood so we can operate on Mr. McCartney?" The doctor asked. "I would. Besides, he's my boyfriend and I love him." Violet said. "Very well then. Right this way, Miss..." Said the doctor. "Redfield." Said Violet.

Violet's P.O.V.

As the doctor took me into the room next to where Paul is, a nurse greeted me with a smile. "Please come on in." She said. "Miss Redfield said she's willing to donate blood for Mr. McCartney's operation." The doctor said. "That's right. And please, call me Violet." I said. "Okay, Violet, please have a seat and we'll get started." Said the nurse.

I sat down in the chair as the nurse picked up the syringe. She stuck the needle into my arm and I didn't flinch. Once all the blood was in the bag, the nurse gave it to the doctor as he brings it to Paul's room for the surgeons. I went back to the waiting room where Todd is. "Hey there, blood angel." He said with a smile. I giggled at his words. "You're silly!" I said. "So you gave blood, huh?" Said Todd. "A whole pint. Paul is ready for surgery." I said.

Paul's surgery took place a few minutes after I gave blood. Two hours later, the doctor comes back. "Mr. McCartney is ready for visitors." He said. "He's awake?!" I asked excitedly. "Yes, Violet, he is. Would you like to go first?" Asked the doctor. "I would, thank you." I said. I followed the doctor to Paul's room. There was my boyfriend, laying on his bed and wide awake. I felt my eyes fill with tears as I walked up to him.

"Violet, baby, why are you crying?" Asked Paul. "I'm just so happy!" I sobbed. "Honestly, I'm happy too. Someone was generous enough to give me blood and my Rotterdam's disappeared. I'm officially cured, darling! I'm saved!" Paul said with a smile. "That person was definitely very brave to donate blood for you." I said. "When I leave this hospital, I'm gonna find out who that blood donor was that saved me." Said Paul.

Paul's eyes started to get heavy. He struggles to keep them open as we continue chatting. "Are you okay?" I asked. "Yeah. I forgot to mention that the nurse gave me a sedative shot that'll take control in about five minutes." Paul said. "What's that supposed to mean?" I asked. "Don't worry, it's not lethal. It's to help me sleep. Besides, the doctor said I need to rest for the remainder of the day." Said Paul. "Oh." I said.

As Paul and I kept talking, Paul's words started to slow down as the sedative was taking effect. "How long will they be keeping you here?" I asked. "A few days. However, I need you... to do me... one large favor." Paul said as his voice got quieter. "What's that, my sweet love?" I asked. "I want you... to be... at my house... when I get out of here." Said Paul. "Why?" I asked. "Because... I wanna see you... and I want you... to be there for me... when I get home." Paul said.

I took a minute to think. "I'll do that for you, Paulie. I promise. And I love you so much." I said. "I... love you... too... Violet." Said Paul as he closed his eyes again. "Paul? Are you asleep?" I asked. My question was answered as there was no reply. The sedative took full effect on Paul as he slept peacefully.

Before leaving his side, I stroked his hair, caressed his face, and kissed his forehead. "I love you." I whispered. I turned around and saw the doctor standing in the doorway. He nods at me as I left Paul's side. "Does he know?" I asked. "Know what?" The doctor asked. "That it was me who saved him?" I asked. "He doesn't. I wanted him to be surprised." Said the doctor. "I understand." I said. "When he leaves here in a few days, you may tell him." The doctor said. "Then I will." I said.

Todd drops me off at home. "Thanks for being there with me, Todd. I knew I could count on you." I said. "No problem, Vi." Todd said. He drives away after a minute. Before entering my house, Kevin comes in my direction. "Violet! Where've you been all day?" He asked. "At the hospital." I said. "Oh gosh! Are you okay?!" Asked Kevin in a panic.

"Kevin, I'm fine. I was visiting Paul." I said. "What's wrong with Paul?" Kevin asked. "Well, he had a condition called Rotterdam's Syndrome that was gonna kill him in six months. But it took control of him in a few days." I said. "That's horrible! Is he okay?" Asked Kevin. "Oh, he's much better! The hospital staff were able to save him!" I said excitedly. "Hooray! How did they save him?" Kevin asked. "I gave blood." I said. "Wow! I'm surprised you didn't freak out since it involves needles. I'd be acting like a scared little girl." Said Kevin.

I let out a small giggle. "I'm used to it. I volunteered at a blood drive once, so it's okay." I said. I then heard whining and felt paws swiping my leg. I looked down and there was Midnight. "Oh! Hi, Midnight! I didn't realize you were here." I said.

Midnight lays on her back, asking me to give her a belly rub. Kevin and I did it together for the next few minutes. We said our goodbyes after that as I made my way inside my house. "There you are! You've been gone for hours!" Said my dad. "Sorry. Paul was rushed to the hospital, and I wanted to be there for him." I said. "What's with the bandaid on your arm?" Asked my mom. "I gave blood. The doctor said that they needed someone to do that so they could operate on Paul and remove his disease. And now he's cured." I said.

My parents looked at me with confused expressions, then smiled after a minute. "Darling, you're a natural!" My mom said. "Even at that blood drive last year, you didn't even squirm, flinch, or freak out! We're very proud of you, sweetheart." My dad said. My parents wrapped me up into a group hug.

A little while later, I went up to my room and got started on writing another song. Now that Paul is officially cured, I have absolutely nothing to worry about!
