Family of Heroes!

Chapter 8

The team and what's left of the League that remained to oversee the rest of the mission, had never heard Daniela act like that. Most of the team (the boys that aren't Robin) wore a slight blush. Robin on the other hand was getting very annoyed. Megan sensing his irritation speaks up. "So now that that's all settled we can head back to the cave right? I mean she doesn't need to walk so we can go now."

With that said everyone was headed back to Mount Justice.

Mount Justice~

Now at a table sat the team, the ghosts, Daniela, Dash, Superman, Martian Manhunter, and Batman. Everyone was looking to Daniela for an explanation of some kind.

Robin was anxious as it was, this was only supposed to be a informative mission and then a reunion. Now he needs to know what's going on so he doesn't lose his sister. First I can start with why she was taken. Then I can ask her what blondie was doing holding her like that, in front of me no less! Who the hell does blondie thinks he is!? Robin looked just as red as his namesake. Hoping to get the conversation started he cleared his throat and asked Daniela what was going on.

When my big brother cleared his throat and asked me what was going on. I knew it was time to tell my story. I looked at Ember, Kitty, and Desiree and nodded. Knowing what I was asking they took Johnny, Shadow, and, Cujo and left the room.

I then heard Batman as he said "You are not allowed to dismiss them from this room, we need to-..."

But I just shot a look and said "Shut up, this is not up to you. This is common courtesy and an old law that I will not have broken just because you need to have everyone in the room and know everything about them."

Everyone looked shocked. Although Batman was glaring at me. Probably because of the way I said it but this is serious. As a future ruler to the GZ it's my duty to obey the ancient laws so I can set a good example. One of the most sacred laws is to never ask how another ghost died, it's seen as a sensitive topic. The time when a ghost dies is when they were at their weakest. Only if a ghost gives you permission to know or wishes to tell you are you allowed to know.

Taking a deep breath to calm myself down I said in a much nicer tone "Look you don't understand our traditions nor do you understand why they are there so instead of arguing with me about it let me just explain. Ok?"

I got confused nods all around, probably because I said 'our'. Dash, however, had a look of understanding on his face which confused me.

Robin looks at me asking "Can you just explain what's going on so we can help you Daniela."

"Then I guess I should start from the beginning if you are going to understand." I leaned back in my seat getting comfortable and took a deep breath. "When I was 14 my adopted parents Jack and Maddie Fenton finally completed a project that they had been working on since college. This project they were working on was a portal to the realm of ghosts or more commonly known as the Ghost Zone."

Everyone in the room was hanging on to my every word. I looked at my brother and saw he was confused. Apparently so were his friends.

"That's nice and all but I don't see how that connects to what happened earlier." Kid Flash butted in.

I rolled my eyes saying, "I'm not finished yet." That made him shut up. "Anyway, the day they decided to power it up they called Jazz and I downstairs to watch. But when they went to plug it in it didn't work." I can see Dash looking at me with a confused look on his face. "So I went out with my friends Sam and Tucker later that day telling them what happened earlier." I took a deep breath and rub the back of my neck nervously. "Sam wanted to check it out so I brought them over." I said while not looking up. "My friend Sam is a goth so she thought it was cool, and was wondering if we would be able to take a closer look so I put on a hazmat suit and looked inside of it."

"-so I put on a hazmat suit and looked inside of it." Wait... what?!??!?!!??!!? Oh I don't like where this is going. Just what did you do to yourself little sister. Robin look to Batman and saw he was coming to the same conclusion as he himself was. Robin looked at Dash who looked as though he just had everything put together into a nice puzzle for him.

"Wait you're telling me that you went inside of a machine that was meant to rip open a door to another dimension!!!!"Kid Flash screamed this and this finally got everyone to realize the gravity of the situation. Daniela didn't look at anyone, she just stared at the table causing everyone to glance at each other worriedly. After a few minutes she continued talking. "I walked in and it was so dark I couldn't see two feet in front of me causing me to trip. I caught myself on the wall but I hit the backup on/off switch my adopted parents installed."

Utter silence in the room. Robin was shaking trying not to cry or rage. The amount of electricity that it takes to power something like that. It shouldn't be possible!! How on earth is my sister alive!!!??? "H-... how are you still alive?" Every head in the room looked from Robin to Daniela. Batman put his hand on his protégés arm in hopes of calming him down and soothing him.

Daniela's reply doesn't help. "I don't know. The only thing I remember from that point on was a bright green flash and then pain. It felt like I was being ripped apart atom by atom over and over again. I never wanted to feel anything like that again. I would never wish that kind of pain on anybody. One thing I remember with clarity though is that I never wanted anyone to feel the pain I did." Unbeknownst to Daniela she was getting looks of approval from all the hero's and the team even if they were still shaken. " I woke up with my friends over me looking freaked out. They saw me wake up and gave me a mirror. What I saw was not a blue eyed black haired girl wearing a white and black hazmat suit. It was quit the opposite actually." Daniella stood up from her chair and everyone had to do a double take when a blue ring appeared around her waist that split and started traveling up and down her body as she continued. In fact my hazmat suit changed to mostly black with a little white instead, my hair became white and my eyes neon green." As she finished talking so did her transformation.

Everyone was gaping at her as she FLOATED back down to her seat. "I am the super heroine of Amity Park, Phantom. I am what you call a Halfa, half-human half-ghost."

Utter silence once again. Batman finally having enough said one word, "Explain!"

After a few hours of explaining her history the team and hero's are finally up to speed. I am back in human form and my friends are back. However I am want to know why the hell Dash was there and why the hell he cares now.

I turn to Dash and ask him what's been on my mind since he showed up. "Why are you here and why do you care? For that matter how did you get here?"
