Stuck like glue

     Over the next few days, Henry made a point of always staying in contact with Charlotte. Whether he had 5 minutes or 5 hours he tried to spend as much time as he could with her.

While sitting in the man cave one day Henry decided to text her.

Henry the H💣:  Will you help me study for my  math test tonight. I will be your best friend if you say yes.

Charlotte 🎓👜: Of course I will but I already have a best friend and I am not taking applications for a new one

Henry the H💣: Wow you must have a really great best friend to be refusing applications.

Charlotte 🎓👜: Yes he is. Jasper is the best.

Henry the H💣: Really, just for that I am not bringing you the surprise I got for you

Charlotte 🎓👜: OMG what is it.

Henry the H💣: I am not telling. You have to wait and see😝

Charlotte 🎓👜: I am really not liking you right now; but I will wait to see what my surprise is.

As Henry was smiling and texting , Ray had been trying to get his attention. " Really Henry, who are you texting that so important. I have been trying to talk to you about tonight for the past 5 minutes," said Ray.

" Sorry I was making plans with Char for tonight," said Henry with a big smile on his face.

" Tonight we have to re lace all of my sneakers, so you will have to cancel with Charlotte, " explain Ray.

" I think not. We studying for  our math test tomorrow. I am trying to get my grades up so maybe some legit colleges will be interested in me," countered Henry.  He new he wasn't Ivy League material like Char but maybe he could get in at a college near hers. He had to find out where she was going so he could start researching.  He also had  finally decided to man up and tell Char that she was his future. That the thought of her not in his life killed him. He always figured he had plenty of time. That why he tried dating other girls in hopes maybe he would hear his heart song with one of them. But the songs were never as loud and beautiful as Char's song.  Her leaving made him step up his game plan and finally tell her the truth.

"College/Smollege you don't have to go to college to be my sidekick, " laughed Ray "I mean we have a big budget from the city plus we have Schwoz to do all the smart people stuff. Besides are your grade good enough for college. "

Henry looked at Ray with a are you for real face. "Dude I am about to graduate in a few months. I am not even a kid anymore. Char and I are going away to school. Plus I have you to know with her help I had kept a GPA of 3.35" Henry said brushing his shoulder off.

"You know what I am starting to question your comment to me, it like you are afraid to be stuck here in Swelview with me," said Ray with anger in his voice.

" I given you almost 6 years of my life, I gave you all my teenage years, miss school and family outing. I given you, Kid Danger, and Swelview all I could. How dare you question my loyalty",
said Henry in a voice laced with hurt and anger.

Unbeknownst to the two arguing superheroes Schwoz had entered the cave from the sprocket door. He looked on worried that the two men would say something to ruin there relationship.

"You know what Kid, since Charlotte left you have been a out of it. I suggest you forget about her and college if you plan on staying Kid Danger." Ray said in a tone so serious that it cause by Schwoz and Henry to take a step back.

After recovering from Ray statement; Henry looked around the man cave he briefly made eye contact with Schwoz who look as sad as lost puppy. He knew in his heart he was about to make a the right decision.

"Ray, Thank you for the past 6 years. You gave be the opportunity to fulfill my childhood dream of being a super hero. I can never repay you for that; but I have one more childhood dream to make a reality and no one including you will make me forget about it".  Henry took his gumballs and laid them on the table, he hugged Schwoz and then went to stand under the tubes.

"Where are you going" asked Ray in a stunned voice.

" To tell my childhood dream that I love her so she can become my future, " said Henry with a smile radiating from not only his face but his whole body.

"Up the tubes" Henry said for the last time.

Ray and Schwoz stared at the empty tube with shock expressions,  till Schwoz scream out "Yes Cheney is finally about to happen".
