"Brigitte! Wake up!" a voice yells, shaking me from my dreams. "C'mon, you're already late." I open my eyes and recognize my brother through my blurry vision. I rub my eyes and look around again. My eyes land on the clock sitting on my dresser. It read 6:24.

"Jake! Why didn't you wake me up earlier?!" I jump out of bed and push my brother to the side, hurrying to the bathroom.

"I forgot! Just hurry! We have about 20 minutes to get to the school." he responds. I look in the mirror, makeup covering under my eyes. I quickly take a wet cloth to it. Now that I look somewhat human, I brush my teeth.

"I'm leaving in 10. If you aren't ready, you're walking!" Jake drives me to school now that he has his license. He got it halfway through last year, before that we had to walk. My mom always left too early to take us to school.

"I'm hurrying!" I go back to my bedroom and quickly throw on a pair of jeans and a bright blue shirt that says "Summer". I brush my hair and put it into a ponytail. Slipping on my DC hightops and my varsity jacket, I hurry downstairs to the living room. I grab my backpack from the couch. "Jake! Let's go!"

He comes from the kitchen and throws his backpack over his shoulder. He grabs his keys and goes out the door, I followed close behind. We hurried to his Jeep and made our way to school. "Here. Junior year sucked for me, maybe this will help you." Jake handed me a black keychain that read 'Dream' in a bright green.

"Are you sure? You need it more than me, it's your last year of high school." the keychain was a gift from our dad to Jake on his 15th birthday. Our dad lives out of state and we haven't seen him in years.

"Nah. I already survived three years. I'm sure this last one will be easy." he urged me to take it.

"Thank you." I was surprised he gave it to me. Jake and I don't fight like normal brothers and sisters, we usually get along. But it was still weird that he would give me one of the only presents dad had ever given him.

We pulled up to the school. Today was my first day of my Junior year. After being gone all summer, I really don't want to be back. I don't have many friends, actually I don't even have any friends. School has always been a living hell for me. I'm different, you could say. I don't talk as much as most teenagers, I usually sit alone with my earbuds in. I don't mind being alone, it's easier than spending time with people I can't stand.

"Get out. I'm going to go park." Jake stops by the sidewalk.

"Bossy much?" I tease, opening my door.

"It's my car. Now go have fun."

"Ya, because school is a blast!" I laugh at his comment and shut the door. He chuckled slightly before driving off. I look around and remember how much I hated this place. Everybody hugging each other all around, smiling, re-uniting after 2 and a half months. Or almost everybody. I notice a boy walking inside, completely alone with his hood up. At least I'm not the only one left out of society.

I make my way into the school, trying to hurry to my first class and avoid anybody along the way. Finally, room 312. I walk into the room and find most seats taken. Only a few seats are left scattered around. I make my way to the one in the far back corner. The minute I sit down, the bell rings. Looking to my right, the boy who was alone earlier is sitting with his head down. My eyes find a bright blue pair of orbs as he looks up. His eyes, beautiful and mysterious were hypnotizing. Soon my trance was broken and moved to the front of the class where a tall, brunette man stood.

"I'm Mr. Shreiner. Welcome to English. Since the classes are short today, we might as well use the time to learn each other's names and get it out of the way." the teacher points to a girl in the far back corner on the other side of the room. "You start." he insisted.

She sighed and roles her eyes,"I'm Sydney."

The boy next to her went next,"Ethan."

"No hoods in my class." Mr. Shreiner spoke referring to the boy beside me who was up next.

"Luke." he said, moving his hood down to reveal blonde hair put into a perfect quiff. Now he has a name. Luke looked straight to me afterwards, I could feel butterflies in my stomach. I forgot what was happening, somehow I got lost in Luke's eyes again.

"You don't have a name?" a voice asked directing my attention back to what was happening. Before I could respond Mr. Shreiner replied,"I guess not. Continue."

The boy in front of me continued,"Kyle."

My English teacher already doesn't like me, great. This is not a good start to my day. The only good thing that's happened is that I get to sit next to a super hot guy for the next year, Luke.
