"You're really funny, you know that?" Luke asked, neither of us adverting our eyes.

It took me a second to realize what he said before I laughed and moved away.

"Why are you laughing?" I looked back at Luke. He had a confused look on his face.

"I thought you were going to... Nevermind." I decided against telling Luke what I thought was going to happen. Although I have feelings for him, he probably doesn't for me.

"No, tell me. I wanna know." It seemed like he actually wanted to know.

"It doesn't even matter." I said and turned to look out the window.

"You thought I was going to kiss you?" He asked. I froze, didn't look at him or move. "Because I thought about it... But I decided to save our first kiss until I got to know you better and so you wouldn't think I'm a player."

I looked over at him and smiled while he smiled back. As awkward as the few moments were, my stomach was full of butterflies. Luke liked me. "I wouldn't think you're a player."

He laughed quietly,"Probably not, but I think I could choose a way better time than in my old, dirty truck." I laughed along with him.

"Okay. So where are we going to go?" I asked, trying to get off the subject as it only got more awkward.

"My place?" I nodded agreeing. Luke turned up the radio and jammed all the way to his house, neither of us speaking. Just listening to music.

----------------------------------------------

Luke pulled up to a light tan colored house. He stopped the truck,"This is it." He said before getting out. I looked at the house he was referring to. I got out of the truck and walked with Luke up the driveway. He lead me to the side of the house where the door was. "Ladies first." He opened the door and gestured for me to go in.

"Thank you." I quietly said while walking inside, Luke following behind.

I looked around, the door led into the family room. The large room had a couch a little to the right of the door and about five feet out from the wall. In front of the couch sat a tv stand with a median sized, flat screen on top. There were drawers towards the bottom of the stand and an empty space, separating the top of the stand from the drawers. In that space were what looked like family pictures. I found myself wandering over to look at the photos.

"Is this you?" I asked picking up one of a small, very light blonde boy with his elbows up and resting on the shoulders of two people that were cut out of the picture.

"Uh, ya... It's an old picture." Luke said sounding embarrassed. I looked back to Luke and saw his face was a bit red and he was scratching the back of his neck.

"You were cute." I put the picture down and stood up. He actually did Luke really cute, kinda like a chipmunk.

"What? I'm not cute now?" He asked defensively, but not sounding harsh about it.

"I didn't say that." I laughed at him.

"You didn't say yes either." He smirked at me with an eyebrow raised. I giggled at him.

"Luke! Are you home?" A woman's voice came from the kitchen which was next to the living room on the left. A blonde lady came around the corner from the kitchen. "Oh, hi!" She said as soon as she saw me.

"Hi mom, this is my friend Brigitte." Luke said introducing me.

Luke's mom came over and put out her hand, I shook it politely and smiled. "I'm Liz" she said.

"Nice to meet you ma'am." I tried to be as nice as I could, this was my first impression and I always try to make them the best.

"Nice to meet you too hun." She smiled at me. "Are either of you hungry?" Luke looked at me and I nodded.

"Ya, can we eat upstairs?" He asked. Liz nodded. Luke led me to the kitchen and grabbed a couple bags of chips for us before leading me upstairs. There were only three rooms upstairs, he walked to the room on the right just past the stairs.

"Sorry, it's a bit messy." He apologized while entering the room. It was his room. There were clothes on the floor in some spots but it wasn't very messy.

"It's not even that messy." I replied. He chuckled and closed the door behind me after I came into the room.

"For me it is. Want to play a game? Do you play video games?" He asked. He sat on his bed and patted the spot next to him offering me the seat.

"Ya, what do you have?" I sat next to him.

"Right now I have Grand Theft Auto in. You okay with that?" He handed me a controller to the xbox system he had and grabbed one for himself. I nodded and Luke turned on the xbox. "I'm really good at this game by the way."

I laughed,"So am I. I bet I can do more damage than you." I challenged him.

I looked at him and he looked straight into my eyes seriously,"What are you gonna bet?"

----------------------------------------------

After playing gta with Luke, he definitely did better than me. Probably because he has cheats memorized. Because he did better, I had to give him $10. It might've been stupid to bet ten bucks on some game, but I thought I was really good until I played Luke. We spent another hour just talking and laughing.

"Okay, okay. So you seriously thought a stick could hold you?!" Luke asked while laughing. He had his eyes closed and a huge smile on his face while laughing. I thought it was cute. He also had a contagious laugh which got me to start laughing.

"Yes! I don't even know why, I thought I could hold onto it and it would hold me just in case I fell." I replied and we laughed harder. I was telling him how one time I tried to cross a very small steam when I was younger and ended up not making the jump so I held onto a thin branch nearby to keep me from falling in. My dad had to come help me. My mom and him were in the vehicle with Jake, just watching me try to cross the steam. When I didn't make the jump I grabbed the branch. I was bent over backwards above the water while holding onto the branch for dear life and calling for help. My dad got me before I could lose grip and fall into the water. It was so embarrassing.

After Luke and I began to stop laughing I asked,"So what's something embarrassing that happened to you?"

"There's so much! Where do I begin?" Luke said. He began talking about being at school and slipping on the wet floor while accepting an award in front of his entire class.

We kept exchanging embarrassing stories and happy memories for a while. I looked at my phone to see it was 7:48. "Sorry Luke, but I should probably go now." I got up and put my shoes on.

"I'll drive you home." Luke offered and I accepted.

I said goodbye to Liz and left with Luke. He drove me home and left with a "goodnight" along with a hug from him. I said the same to him and went into my house.

Today was really fun with Luke. I liked just hanging out and not doing much other than talking and messing around. I liked having a friend. It was fun.
