Chapter 15

Newwie sat quietly in the corner as he wrapped his hand in his boxing hand wrap. The weather today was not really good, perfectly just like his heart. He felt something burden him right now, too many things on his mind he couldn't avoid to not think about.

"New..."

New tilted his head to see a guy walking towards him. The guy smiled in his black sleeveless hoodie and boxer shorts. New replied politely with a nod.

"P'Earth..."

Earth joined Newwie to sit as he offered him a bottle of water. Newwie shook his head as he pointed at the water bottle beside him.

"I have it, P. Thanks."

Earth looked at Newwie gloomy face as he smiled, "Something's on your mind?"

Newwie chuckled, tried to hide his feelings. "No, I'm fine. Just a little bit tired of studying. So much homework lately. I'm exhausted."

"Are you ready for the match yet?"

Newwie nodded, "I guess so. I needed the money."

Earth sighed, "I don't know what makes you so stubborn to continue studying there. That place was not fit for people like us. You pushed yourself too hard, New..."

"I'm okay, P. Don't worry about me."

"I really don't get you. What makes him so special that you worked your ass off just to be with him?"

Newwie looked at Earth. He didn't know the answer because he kept asking the same exact question to himself until now. Newwie or New Thitipoom Techaapaikhun is just an ordinary guy. He grew up with Earth in an orphanage since his parents passed away in a car accident when he was 5 years old. Earth was a senior in the orphanage and he really took care of Newwie. Both of them parted ways when Newwie was about 15 years old.

When New was in high school, he worked part-time in a coffee shop. That was the time when he saw Tay Tawan walking in. Since then on, he was mesmerized by him. He was very down-to-earth and fun to be with. They got closer by the time and Newwie decided to work his ass off just to be able to study in the same college as Tay. This is where he met again with Earth and he offered him a job as an underground boxer just like himself. Newwie accepted the offer without thinking twice, even though it means he has to give up his whole body, battered by people, because the pay for underground boxing is very high. Now, he wasn't really sure if his decision was right all along...

"I thought he is a rich brat. If he really means it to be with you, it should be easy for him to pay for your tuition fee."

"You know I didn't want his money, P."

"Oh New...", Earth shook his head in frustration, "Why are you so stupid!? It would make your life so much easier."

"I'm fine, P. Really...", Newwie smiled to convince him. "I live well and I enjoy doing what I do now. You don't need to worry about me."

Earth nodded desperately before he patted Newwie's shoulder and stood up.

"I'll be practicing. Don't take too long and join me."

Newwie nodded before Earth finally walked away. He sighed softly. He made this decision already and there's no backing down. Though he wasn't sure what was the problem between him and Tay right now, he was sure, Tay has changed. He couldn't find the old Tay he was mesmerized by, the old cheerful, clumsy, down-to-earth and kind-hearted Tay he fell in love with. He needed to make this right, no matter what.

It was ordinary Friday when Gulf, Saint, Bull and the three girls (Baifern, Spice, and Davi) were enjoying their lunch in the canteen. It has been almost a week that Baifern has been discharged from the hospital and she has started to go to class as usual.
