Chapter 34

A woman in her forties who appeared to be dressed neatly was sitting behind her desk filled with important files that she had to check.

This woman still looked beautiful even though several aging lines could be seen on her forehead. Her dressing style looked very expensive and her movements looked so graceful, typical of a middle-aged rich woman in the era.

"Come in...", she answered shortly as she heard someone knocked at her door.

A spectacled well-dressed guy entered the room with a piece of a brown paper folder in his hand. The woman raised her head as she smiled.

"Mrs. Davis...", greeted the guy.

The woman, who appeared to be Mrs. Davis, the wife of conglomerate Tony Davis who owned the Davis empire, nodded slightly.

"Anything new?"

The guy nodded slightly.

"Is it about Tony or about my son?"

The guy came forward and put the folder on the table before her eyes. She turned her gaze towards the folder and back to the guy with a questioning look.

"So I believe this is about Tony and his new mistress?"

The guy shook his head, "No. It's about your son, Mew Davis. All of the information and the pictures are there inside the folder."

"I will look at it later. Just tell me briefly what happened lately will you?"

"There's nothing much happened lately with Mr. Mew's studies. He often skipped class with Mr. Thanit and smoked in the school backyard as usual"

Mrs. Davis smiled. "He's just being a boy, let him be."

"However...", the guy paused for a moment.

Mrs. Davis put her document on the table and turned her gaze towards the guy with a questioning look. She reached the folder in front of her and pulled out some pictures and papers from inside of it. One of them was a picture of a young guy smiling with Mew Davis sleeping on his lap.

"Continue...", the women ordered as her eyes kept looking at the picture.

"Currently Mr. Mew Davis and Mr. Thanit were very close to this boy named Art Pakpoom Juanchainat."

Mrs. Davis took a piece of photo and showed it to the guy, "This boy?"

The guy nodded, "Yes, that boy. Mr. Mew was so close to this boy that it made me think...I think..."

The guy was quiet for a moment. He didn't know whether he should continue his word or should he just keep it to himself. Mrs. Davis raised her eyebrows in annoyance.

"Say it..."

"They look more like lovers than a friend to me."

Mrs. Davis' face paled. If he told her that her husband had affairs with a different woman every single day, she would not be surprised because it had become her daily dose of news. However, her world seemed to collapse when she heard of this news. Is her only son gay? The only successor of Davis Empire is gay?

"And this is where it gets interesting.", the guy continued, "That boy's father, Mr. Juanchainat, is one of our employees here. He is one of our executive managers in the billing department."

"Are you sure about this?"

"You may find all the related information there", he pointed at the scattered papers on the table.

"Do you think that boy approached Mew for a specific reason?"

The guy sighed, "That, I couldn't make sure of it yet. I'm sorry, Mrs. Davis"

Mrs. Davis threw the picture on the table irritatedly. She massaged her temples as she started to get a headache.

"About Mr. Tony Davis-", before he could continue, Mrs. Davis turned her gaze to stare at the guy sharply, making him whimper.

"I don't care about him. He can just rot in hell! You may go out now."

The guy nodded as he excused himself, "I'll be taking my leave then."

Mrs. Davis nodded without answering, but a second later, she called the guy again. He stopped his track and turned his back to look at Mrs. Davis with a questioning look.

"Yes, Mrs. Davis. Anything?"

"Keep digging and inform me if there's anything new..."

"Yes, I will"

The guy nodded politely before he finally stepped out of the room. Mrs. Davis took the picture once again and stared at it for a moment. She couldn't let this thing happen. She needs to do something for sure...

It has been a few days after V has been discharged from the hospital but today was the first day V made a comeback to school and joined the others for lunch.

V looked nervous. He kept looking around with anticipation. God and Dragon could not help but laughed at him, leaving Shawny to pat his shoulder for moral support.

"Are you waiting for Mew to come or not to come?"

V pouted as he glared at God, "Were you trying to help? Or were you gonna keep bitching until Mew came and punch me on the face?"

Dragon chuckled, "That's my V!"

"Take it easy...", Shawny patted his shoulder, "You're gonna be okay."

"Shawny", V turned his gaze towards Shawny with a puppy look, "Seriously... do you think I should run away from Mew if he's coming?"

Dragon and God were busy gigglings. V shot another glare towards the two of them irritatedly.

"Seriously guys? Were you laughing at me?"

V scoffed in annoyance, but before he can continue, suddenly someone slapped his head so hard that his forehead swung forward and hit the table. He turned his head in anger, ready to burst out, but suddenly he closed his mouth in horror. Mew was standing there, smirking at him.

"Well, it's not late for you to run away now..."

"M-, Mew...", V stuttered.

Mew threw his bag on the floor and took a seat beside V with his food tray. He glared at V while V whimpered like a scared little dog.

"Don't you dare to do that stunt again or I will not think twice to kill you myself. You heard me?"

V nodded quickly without further ado, "I promise... I promise... I'm sorry Mew... I was crazy and I didn't think of the consequences. I'm sorry..."

"It's good that you are okay now", Mew smiled as he ruffled V's hair, "Now finish your lunch!"

Dragon burst out laughing meanwhile Shawny just smiled, seeing the scene before his eyes. God looked a bit nervous as he kept staring at Mew. Is this what the phrase -calm before the storm- means literally?
