HAPPINESS - [Oikawa x reader]

As soon as the response came out of her mouth, Iwaizumi silently watched Oikawa approach Shiratorizawa's manager, closing the distance that separated them. Y/N hesitantly turned around, only to be met with the face of guilt,

"...You mean it?" Oikawa quivered, a crooked smile forming on his lips. Though he was quite happy, he was afraid he may have pressured her to accept his words, "A-are you sure...?"

Without uttering a word, Y/N nodded while proceeding to lower her head to avoid eye contact with the male, "It was in the past. It does not matter," she spoke softly whilst attempting to hide her solemn expression, "Though I never apologised from what happened back then."

"What do you mean? You didn't do anything," Oikawa was confused. What was she talking about? But whatever it was, Y/N averted her gaze from the male to her shoes, guilt clear in her e/c orbs, remaining silent, "Hey, don't blame yourself..."

"I have every right to blame myself," The young Ushijima spoke, unconsciously fiddling with her fingers as she bit her bottom lip— a sign that Oikawa knew all too well.

"Why...? It was all me."

"I—"

"Y/N, it's time to go," a voice boomed, interrupting the conversation. Oikawa's eyes widened at the sudden appearance of Shiratorizawa's ace, the team captain— Wakatoshi. Iwaizumi— who had been third wheeling the entire time, scoffed and clicked his tongue before walking up to Seijou's team captain, "Oi, Trashykawa."

Noticing his presence, Ushiwaka gave Oikawa a nod, "You should've come to Shiratorizawa."

"Like hell I'd ever go there!" He clicked his tongue, glaring at the olive-haired male.

"Toshi, please wait for me. I'm not finished," The younger sister turned away from her brother before facing Oikawa.

'Toshi? They're on first name basis already?' Oikawa thought, feeling uneasy as he glanced back and forth between Y/N and Ushiwaka, '...Am I too late? What is their relationship..?'

"Tooru," The sound of her soft voice calling him by his give name instantly snapped him out of his daze. Giving her his full attention, he stood straight and fought off the scowl he gave Wakatoshi, "I still need to apologise from what happened."

"Y/N, you-"

"I'm sorry. I truly am. I did not mean to offend you with my presence, so— if you'd like, I will leave you alone. We can pretend our conversation today never happened."

Guilty, Y/N bowed as she apologised— biting her bottom while she waited for his response. Oikawa stood there, stunned from her apology. He struggled to form words with his mouth. He was at a loss for words. He wanted to tell her that none of it was her fault. He really did.
Taking his silence as a 'yes', Y/N lifted her head up, giving Iwaizumi a quick glance of acknowledgement before leaving the duo's presence by walking up to her brother.
His heart 'thumped' rapidly at the sight of her figure slowly disappearing and Iwaizumi could only watch him struggle to make his decision.

"Y/N!" He called out, stopping Y/N in her tracks, "L-Let's talk. Properly this time."

Unsure, Y/N gave Wakatoshi a look to which he nodded at, giving her approval. The tall male turned his back on her, "You are aware that we would be leaving without you, right?"

"It's fine. I can walk back."

"I see. Be careful," With that, Wakatoshi wrapped his arm around the younger sibling who returned the gesture. Iwaizumi and Oikawa's jaws dropped at the sudden display of action unfolding before their very eyes, "I love you."
