After the public display of affection Oikawa showed towards the media, it wasn't surprising when he was immediately bombarded by the paparazzi right after separating from his wife.
Crying internally, he fiddled with the gold medal around his neck— somehow causing a crowd to scream from the simple action. Clearing is throat, he held a hand up— somehow managing to quiet his paparazzi, "Alright, we'll go one by one. Who's first?"
A woman immediately shot her hand up. She was dressed a formal business suit, a microphone in hand with a man carrying a camera behind her. She was the official news reporter... Meaning his answer was to be live streamed in front of millions, "Oikawa, how was it facing the monster generation?"
Scoffing, he crossed his arms pridefully, "Monster generation? They're just stepping stones to me."
Another wave of cheering roars filled the crowd, the big screen in the stadium showcasing the star athlete as he chuckled in amusement.
"That's quite a bold thing to say!" The reported exclaimed, earning nods of agreement, "Although, there is something I would like to ask you. I'm sure all of us are eager for his answer."
"Of course, what is it?"
"After the game, you were around the monster generation and you were with a baby. Who was that baby to you?" Again, there was another burst of screams— the crowd chanting along the lines of "who is it". It was annoying but fun.
'Did they not see Y/N-chan literally right in front of me?' He sweat dropped, rubbing his temples.
"That depends. Do you want to know my life story?"
"That would be a pleasure to us, Oikawa!" A fangirl screamed.
"Please!"
"YES!!"
"If you insist!" Oikawa chortled, smiling pridefully as he boasted in laughter, causing many of his fans to swoon.
"Here it is, everyone. San Juan's star athlete tells us the details of the mystery child along with his life story!" The reported announced in anticipation, focusing their camera towards the setter.
-
"Do you think it's his kid?" Hanamakki chuckled, resting his hand against his cheek."Honestly, I don't even know. It's hard to know if Y/N's decided to leave him." Matsukawa snickered, watching the interview.
-
"To start off... Sorry to disappoint you ladies, but I never mentioned that I am a married man." He lifted his ring finger up, which was enclosed by a ring. A series of gasps shot through the crowd as if it wasn't possible."WHO IS IT?" They screamed, some clapping from the unexpected news while some cried.
"I married my high school sweetheart, of course!" He boasted to the crowd. Though it sounded smug, Oikawa did not want to admit that his heart would flutter everytime he talked about his wife and was completely unaware of his red cheeks.
"T-That long?" The reporter's jaw dropped, earning a nod, "Then was that child your...?"
Nodding his head, he smirked, "I'll be back. I have someone I'd want you all to meet."
—
Oikawa quickly thanked his brother in law before holding his dead Hajime in his arms gently. Turning to face the crowd, he placed a finger over his lips as if signalling them to hush, "He's quite sensitive to loud sounds. But meet my son, Hajime." Kissing his temples, he gestured his son to look over the crowd, who gazed in curiosity. His big e/c eyes blinked a few times in confusion before staring back at his father."Oh my goodness..." The reported flushed, "He's adorable! And you named him after Japan's athletic trainer?"
Holding him close, Hajime snuggled into his father's arms, "How could I not? Iwa-chan is my best friend after all!"
"T-Tell us more, please! Why was THE Ushijima Wakatoshi holding your son? What is his relationship with you?"
"Oh, that? I do hate to admit it— but he is my brother in law after all. It's his first time meeting Hajime, who is only one," He gushed at his son, who grabbed a hold of his ring finger, "Aren't you adorable? You did get all your good looks from me and your mother."
"What a great father!" The reported sniffled, shaking her head to ask one final question, "S-So, realistically speaking, you are his brother in law? Does this mean he's got a sister?"
"Oh no," Iwaizumi groaned, slapping his face.
"What's wrong?" Y/N looked up from her seat, "Him and Hajime look like they're having fun."
"It's just that... The reported asked about you... And, well— Oikawa's definitely going to start talking about you now-"
"Of course! She's absolutely gorgeous— the most perfect person I have ever met in my entire life!" He exclaimed, his eyes lighting up at the mention of her existence as Hajime babbled and giggled, "We've been together for what? For 9 years now— since high school. If you ask me, no, I would not trade her for anything— not even volleyball."
At his confession, Y/N's face immediately flushed with red as she palmed her face, peeking through her fingers out of embarrassment, "H-He's so open..."
"That's Oikawa for you!" Iwaizumi laughed.
"You sound like you really love her." The reported grinned, giving Oikawa the mic who gladly took hold of it.
"I do. Very much so. She is my soulmate after all."
With that, he grinned proudly before waving to the crowd, indicating his leave. Upon noticing, they were quick to panic as their star athlete made his way away from the paparazzi.
—
Ignoring the cameramen that followed him at a far distance, he didn't care as he handed Hajime to his best friend, who walked off with his godson somewhere and pulled his wife into a tight embrace, kissing her temples, "I missed you." He pouted, resting his chin on top of her head."You embarrass me... But in a good way," Y/N flushed, resting her head against his chest, "I love you very much, you know?"
"I love you too... Little cutie."
"E-Excuse me, ma'am? Are you his wife...?" The same reporter approached the couple, forcing them to stop their embrace.
Clearing her throat, Y/N placed a strand of locks behind her ear, nodding her head, "Do you need help with anything?"
Pouting in the background, Oikawa gritted his teeth in annoyance, latching his hand to intertwine with his soulmate's fingers. Nothing the reporter at a loss for words, he watched as his wife grew concerned.
"Miss...?"
"S-Sorry! I guess Oikawa's words about you weren't overly exaggerated! You're exactly how he said you were!"
Glancing at the brunette, Y/N felt her cheeks heat up at the small smile he gave her. Their little signs of affection towards each other not going unnoticed by the reporter in front of them.
'They really are soulmates.'
