Leaning in, he rested his forehead against hers, a gentle smile on his face as he held her hand, "What makes you think I'd say no?"
Humming happily, Y/N let his hands make its way on her hips, pulling her closer to his body, "Do you want to do anything else before we go?"
"We can take a quick walk around here, if you'd l-like." She suggested, burying her face rest against his chest as if she craved for more warmth, shivering from the weather's cold air.
"That'd be nice," Oikawa muttered meekly, feeling the blood rush to his face at her public display of affection, but nonetheless, he was happy. Tucking her head under his chin, he watched the fog escape his lips, enjoying the moment until he felt the slight shivers emitting from Y/N's body, "Are you cold?"
"A little bit." She whispered under her breath, disappointed when the setter pulled away.
"If you're cold, we can go home now," He cooed, moving the shopping bags up near his elbows as he lifted his arms up, unwrapping the scarf around his neck, "I don't want you getting sick, Y/N-chan."
Oikawa tucked a few strands of Y/N's behind her ears, taking the scarf before kissing her temples, "I hope this helps." Placing the soft material around her neck gently, the setter proceeded to slowly wrap it, humming an unknown tone under his breath.
"Tooru... Aren't you cold?" Y/N sighed, unable to fight off the smile despite guilt washing over her. As always, Oikawa merely shook his head, interrupting her before she could even protest.
"Y/N-chan, it's okay. You need it more than me."
Lowering her head, Y/N pursed her lips in thought, feeling the heat creep up to her cheeks, "You're sweet."
"And you're adorable," He grinned, pinching her cheeks playfully, ignoring the glances passerby's gave them, "You ready to go home?"
"Of course," She nodded her head, smiling as they began walking, "I like it when you sleep with me."
Oikawa choked back his spit, shocked by Y/N's straightforwardness. But who was he kidding? He knew what she meant yet, he couldn't help but imagine another scenario in mind. Shaking off his dirty thoughts, Oikawa had to refrain himself from showing his usual, cheeky grin, "Me too."
——
"Is your neighbourhood always this dead and quiet at night?" The setter shuddered in a playful manner, letting go of Y/N's hand, bringing her attention."Ru?"
"It's late at night... Who knows what could be wandering around this time," He spoke, turning to face his beloved, "I don't want the same thing happening here at the train." With that, he placed a hand securely on Y/N's waist, her body pressed against his as they continued to walk along the path. The lights were dimmed , leaving little to no room for it to spread as darkness suffocated the neighbourhood. Sighing in relief, Y/N linked her arm with Oikawa's, resting her face against his bicep.
—"We're back," You called out, heaving out a tired sigh followed by a yawn. Dropping the shopping bags on the floor— Oikawa following along as you made your way to the living room when noticing the lack of words, "Mother, Toshi, are you both... here?" Your voice trailed off once you peeked through the door way, seeing three silhouettes standing as if they were discussing something. There was Wakatoshi, your mother and... someone else?
"-Just don't talk to me. You can stay for at least three days for the kids, but that's it!" Your mother rubbed her temples in annoyance, arms crossed while she glared at the man standing before her, "Be glad I'm actually letting you talk to them!"
"That man— he's the one from the train," Oikawa whispered beside you, pointing at the male, to which you nodded in agreement. Reverting his gaze back to the man, he was able to put the pieces together. That familiar hair colour? How could he forget that his rival, Ushiwaka had the same one? Hell, he even had the same posture as him but he seemed more gentle and calm.
"...He's your dad, isn't he?" He asked, not realising the solemn look on your face.
"Maybe we should go to my room." You murmured, lowering your head as you held his hand, gesturing him to your room.
Snapping his gaze from your family, Oikawa quickly took note of your change in demeanour. Confused, he was about to open his mouth to speak, but he merely shook his head in disagreement before giving your hand a squeeze, earning your attention, stopping you in your tracks, "It's okay."
"To— Wait, we almost forgot the bags!"
—
Entering the room, you both let out sighs of relief as you placed the shopping bags near your desk. Rubbing your temples, you failed to notice Oikawa rushing and tackling you to the bed, his arms around your waist as he buried his face on your chest.
"R-Ru?" You flushed, placing a hand on his nape.
"You looked upset back there so I figured you needed a hug," Oikawa replied, getting to cross his legs on your bed before pulling you on his lap— your back resting against his chest while he leaned against the headboard. The brunette placed his chin on top your head, tracing slightly around your knuckles.
"I haven't seen him in a while," You started, not noticing how you adjusted yourself so you be closer to him if possible. He hummed, leaning down to give your cheek a peck, your eyes widening from the sudden realisation, "He saw us together...!"
You exclaimed, face red while Oikawa tilted his head in confusion. It took about five seconds until his face grimaced, "Shit. Shit. Shit. Your dad— Will he approve?"
"I-I don't know but I hope he will," You stammered, turning around to face him, placing a hand on his cheek, "My mother accepted you— so, I think-"
"Y/N, father is here." Ushijima's voice boomed, your door creaking open to reveal Shiratorizawa's ace with your father behind. You and Oikawa instantly loosened your grip on each other, yelping in surprise before scurrying off the bed, and walking up to your brother, "Did I interrupt your private session?"
"Ushiwaka, I wasn't doing anything to your sister!" Oikawa exclaimed, Ushijima's dark gaze softening at his outburst.
"We were merely conversing." You nodded your head, taking Oikawa's hand in yours.
"That's good then. I won't let you off easily if you touch her." Wakatoshi threatened, only for Oikawa to sweatdrop.
'Shit, he hasn't seen her neck?' He gulped, glancing at your neck— which was covered by his scarf, causing him to sigh in relief, 'I'd be dead then.'
"Wakatoshi, calm down. That boy did save her," Your father laughed whole heartedly, patting his son on the back before he extended his hand out to Oikawa, "Takashi Utsui. You're Y/N's... Boyfriend? From what I've heard."
"Y-Yeah— Oikawa Tooru." He stammered, obviously feeling nervous when he shook Takashi's hand, ignoring Wakatoshi who had already left the scene.
"I don't bite!" He chuckled, ruffling Oikawa's hair playfully, "I didn't realise you'd be here but I am glad."
"For what?" Raising a brow, the setter quickly fixed his hair while his mind was filled with confusion. Despite the gentle and calm aura Takashi emitted, Oikawa couldn't stop the nervousness from spreading. He could feel his hand sweat from the awkward tension while he waited for his response.
"Saving her from that vile man," Takashi sighed, giving Oikawa a closed smile, "I mean it. If you weren't there, I wouldn't want to know what he could've done to my daughter."
"It's only natural for me to do it," Oikawa sighed, squeezing your hand, "I would never forgive myself if he laid a finger on her— Y/N is very precious to me."
"I can see that," Takashi hummed, "Even after all these years, you're still together. Y/N would often come home from elementary school and talk about her friend, Tooru, who played volleyball. I only realised just now that it's you."
"You talked about me?" Oikawa cooed, eyes sparkling when you nodded your head.
"You were my first friend. I was very happy until— Yeah..." You trailed off, unknowingly leaning your form against Oikawa. Heaving a deep breath, you averted your gaze from the setter and to your father, "Dad... I want to ask you a question."
"Of course, what is it?"
"Why did you decide to come here? And why now?"
