"Parker!" Jess yelled, trying to weave her way through the crowded hallway.
She had spent all of sixth hour strategizing how to best use Peter Parker's apparent connection to Spider-Man to her advantage. She thought she had a good plan but it hinged on getting to talk to the boy before the party, she couldn't let him run off to who knows where before she got that chance. So, she was yelling in the hallway and pushing past her peers to get to where the brunet stood at his locker.
"Peter Parker." She breathed, pulling his attention away from Ned Leeds who was chatting animatedly to the boy.
"Y-y-you're Jessica Stark." He stuttered nervously, eyes widening to the size of saucers as he stared down at the girl.
"Very astute." Jess rolled her eyes. "We have four classes together, I don't feel like my presence should be much of a shock to you."
"Well you don't really talk to a lot of people, especially not us." Ned chimed in, seemingly similarly star-struck by Iron Man's daughter but much more brazen than his friend.
"N-no, it's just that your dad is kinda my hero." Peter said sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment.
He hadn't spoken to Jessica Stark before, as Peter or as Spider-Man and he wasn't sure if she knew about his alter ego or not, but if there was one person to sleuth it out it would be her. He knew she had heard him talk about the "Stark Internship" during gym class so she was likely already suspicious as they had never seen each other but she had seen Spider-Man once or twice going to meet with her father.
"I'm sure he'd be flattered to know that but I'm not really here to talk about my dad." Jess said awkwardly. "I need to talk to you about Spider-Man."
She could hear both of their heartbeats quicken when she mentioned the web-slinger, though she wasn't sure why.
"W-what about Spider-Man?" Peter asked, still stuttering out of what she presumed to be nervousness.
"Do you actually know him personally?" She asked, eyes narrowed skeptically. "'Cause I haven't heard my dad talk about taking on interns since we moved from Malibu and I've literally never seen you at the tower."
"I do know Spider-Man." Peter said, his heartbeat steady for the first time since Jessica had walked over. "And I've been interning at Stark Industries since last spring but it's kind of a big building and I'm not allowed up on the residential floors for... obvious reasons."
"Fair enough." She shrugged, deciding to leave her interrogation for another time and returning to her main objective. "I need you to get a message to Spider-Man for me."
"Can't you just talk to him yourself?" Ned interrupted. "Your dad is like the head Avenger and Spider-Man kinda works for him."
Jess sighed frustratedly.
"My dad won't let me near Spider-Man out of concern for his secret identity." She explained. "But I need you to get a message to him from Spider-Woman."
"Wait, you know Spider-Woman but you don't know Spider-Man?" Ned inquired and Jess groaned.
"For fucks sake, Ned can you stop asking questions for one minute so I can do what I came here to do?" She snapped, before coming up with an excuse to avoid the boy's suspicions. "But if you must know, I've been helping her with her suit since before she started working under my dad."
"But she and Spider-Man don't know each other?" Ned asked, confused.
"Obviously not." She sighed, turning back to Peter. "Just tell him to meet her on the rooftop across from Delmar's at 10:00, okay?"
Peter nodded and Jess let out a sigh of relief.
"Thanks." She said, before nodding a goodbye and heading towards the school exit.

"Dude what the hell was that?" Ned gasped, wide-eyed once Jessica Stark was clearly out of ear shot.
"I don't know, man!" Peter panicked, shoving his books in his textbook, eager to get away from the school.
Already today he'd been volunteered to make two appearances as Spider-Man. He really hoped crime could lay off for a night, because Spider-Man was going to be busy.
"Who is Spider-Woman?" Ned asked uneasily, looking very confused.
"I don't know, Ned. That's why I have to meet up with her tonight!" Peter said, his voice breaking slightly from the stress he was feeling.
"No, no, I mean, like, there's a Spider-Woman?!"
"What?" If Peter thought Jessica Stark had confused him, he was wrong. This was so much worse. "You were literally just talking about her as if you knew!"
"Yeah well that's cause you don't admit you don't know about the existence of a superhero to Jessica freaking Stark!" Ned explained, flailing his arms dramatically.
"Yes, there's a Spider-Woman." Peter sighed, not knowing much about the heroine himself. "But her suit looks just like mine and she must use a voice modulator because in the YouTube videos she sounds like a guy."
"So she's camouflaging?" Ned asked, seemingly delighted by this news. "That's so cool! How did you figure it out?"
"Well, I'm always pouring over the Spider-Man videos and I noticed her fighting style is different and if you look close enough you can tell that she has...y'know..." Peter gulped, trailing off as he looked around to see if anyone was near before whispering, "boobs."
They were well past the school by now so it was unlikely that anyone they knew would overhear their conversation but the streets of New York were rarely vacant and the last thing Peter needed was for someone to hear him talking about Spider-Woman's boobs. He didn't want to know what would happen if that got back to Mr. Stark.
"So you've seen Spider-Woman's boobs." Ned said casually and Peter's eyes went wide as he quickly glanced around at their surroundings once again.
"What?! Ned- no!" Peter sputtered out nervously, half expecting Iron Man to come out of the sky and blast him where he stood. "We haven't even met each other how would I have seen that?!"
The pair walked in silence for about a block before Ned spoke again.
"Do you think she's her 'guy in the chair'?" He asked, curiously.
"Ned, what are you talking about?" Peter sighed, unable to keep up with his friend.
"Jessica Stark." Ned answered but continued when the puzzled look remained on Peter's face. "Do you think she's Spider-Woman's 'guy in the chair?' Like how I'm yours?"
"Oh, uh, yeah." Peter answered hesitantly. "I guess so. Probably. I don't know."
"She seemed to be really close with her and obviously she set up the Spider-people meetup." Ned continued, laying out the evidence for his best friend. "She said they've been working together since before she joined the Avengers. I wonder if she goes to Midtown too."
"I wonder why I've never seen Spider-Woman at the Tower before." Peter muttered, recalling that Jessica had said she worked under Mr. Stark like he did.
"That does seem odd." Ned acknowledged. "You're there like, all the time."
"Yeah! And Mr. Stark has never mentioned her at all." Peter continued. "We've talked about the other Avengers."
"Did you, like- y'know, sense anything weird when Jessica was talking to us?" Ned asked, becoming visibly excited at the mention of Peter's abilities.
"Honestly I was so worried about Jessica Stark and accidentally blowing the whole Spider-Man thing that I wasn't focusing on anything else."
"We have to work on your detective skills, man." Ned sighed, shaking his head in mock disappointment.
