Twenty Questions, the game made infamous by fuck boys and douchebags hoping to get into a girl's pants. Yet here Jess was, sitting on a rooftop as the sun fell behind the New York skyline, playing that very game with Spider-Man. It was the best team-building exercise they could think of as the relaxed after their first night of co-patrol.

"Favorite professional sports team?" He asked, and Jess scoffed. "What?" He asked, noticing her eye roll.

"Just.. fulfillment of stereotypes." She laughed lightly, dismissing the thought with a wave of her hand. "But, if I had to choose I guess it'd be the Lakers."

"The Los Angeles Lakers?" Spider-Man asked, sounding aghast. "You are such a bandwagon!"

"Woah there Spidey, who you calling a bandwagon?" It was Jess's turn to be aghast. "I grew up in Malibu!"

"Wait, you're not a New Yorker?"

"I believe it's my turn to ask a question." Jess said, intentionally ignoring his question.

She still didn't know Spider-Man's true identity but had to operate as though he was someone she had come in contact with outside of their spider-personas. Any specific detail could give her away.

"Any hobbies?"

"Umm.. not really?" He paused, as if unsure of how to answer. "Spider-Man has kinda taken over my life, but, uh, I used to be really into Legos?"

"Oh, is that something you and Peter bonded over?" Jess recalled overhearing Ned and Peter talking about building a Lego Death Star a few weeks ago.

"W-what?"

"Oh, sorry. I, uh," Jess fumbled for a way to explain how she knew Peter Parker liked Legos without blowing her cover. "Um.. Jess mentioned hearing him and his friend talking about it in class."

"Oh, uh, yeah. They built the Death Star last week.. from Star Wars." He answered meekly.

"Did you just assume I didn't know what the Death Star was?"

"N-no!"

"You totally did! Jesus, I was born in Malibu, not yesterday. I've seen Star Wars."

"Why does Jess hate Peter?" Spider-Man's eyes grew wide, seeming to realized too late what he had blurted out.

"That, uh, kinda came out of nowhere." Jess remarked, eyes also wide in shock.

"Well, you just brought them both up with your last question and it was my turn so I thought I'd ask and, uh, yeah.."He rambled before trailing off.

Jess remained silent for a moment, opting instead to watch their legs as they dangled over the side of the building. She kicked her legs slightly, letting her heels lightly hit the brick.

"She doesn't." She finally answered in what she thought was clear and concise manner but Spider-Man cocked his head in confusion. "Jess doesn't hate Peter."

"S-she doesn't?" His voice cracked.

Jess shook her head softly, still not meeting his eyes.

"Peter thinks Jess hates him?"

"Well she's always being condescending and she won't trust him with anything!" The issue sounded personal to the web-slinger as he explained it.

"She's the only person I told about the Spider-Woman thing." Jess sighed, not anticipating their game to become this deep. "We're slow to trust with this."

"Just, can you tell her to lay off?" His voice cracked again. "She can trust him, and Ned."

"Ned's part of your team too?" Jess sighed. "How many people do you have?"
