Hello! How're you, this fine afternoon?

Good? :3

Good!

"Faye can you come downstairs for a moment?" Dad calls up from downstairs.

I zip up my jacket, "Coming!"

I make my way down the stairs, humming song lyrics as I went. "Yep?"

"Can you stay here alone for a while?" Dad asks, slipping his coat on. Mom joins him. "We are going to go out."

"Sure." I nod. Jackson had to go deal with some more of his family issues, and he felt that I wouldn't be welcome even if I was his wife because of the high tension between his coven thing.

"Alright," he replied. "We'll be home in a couple hours."

"Bye." I wave a hand.

Once they left I shrug and walk up my stairs. I then felt uneasy, very uneasy about the situation and slowly grabbed a dagger that Lucy had left on the table by my room door. I narrow my eyes, putting my hand on the door knob and slowly opening it.

I walk in, and in front of me is a hooded figure.

"What the hell?" I raise my dagger.

It turns around and I see black hair and brown eyes. "Amanda?"

"Wait." She holds up her hands, but I have her pinned up against the wall, dagger at her thoat.

"Why are you here?" I demanded, eyes narrowed. "How?"

"I used a teleport spell," she replied quickly. "One that the Slayers don't use."

"You say Slayers like you aren't one of them," I snap, gripping the handle of the dagger. My patience was running thin, and I wasn't about to try to calm myself down.

"I left." Her eyes flashed for a moment with fear, her hands now on the wall behind her. Her brown eyes darted all over the room.

"Likely story," I reply sarcastically. "I'm not going to fall for this."

"I'm not lying!" She was trembling badly. She looked as if she might be sick.

"Prove it!" I yelled, shifting so my arm is pressed against her throat.

"How do I prove it?" she cried, gasping.

I narrow my eyes and thought for a moment. My eyes trailed down to her dragon-skinned bracelet and pointed. "Destroy that."

Her eyes shot to the bracelet and gripped it in her free hand as if to protect it. "This? It's nothing."

"I know exactly what it is," I snarl, pressing my arm closer to her throat. She chokes and gasps.

"O-okay!" she gasped. "I'll destroy it."

I step back from her, dagger still in hand and twirl it around. I cross my arms and stare at her, waiting. "Go on."

She rubs her thumb on it for a moment, and looked like she might have second thoughts. Instead, she ripped it off of her wrists and held it out to me.

"Come with me." I took it and glanced at her, jerking my chin. I open the door and go downstairs, making sure she was following. She was.

I walk up to the fire place and turn it on. Amanda stared at the dancing flames blankly. I threw the bracelet in the fire and we both watched it burn for a moment.

I turn to her. "You won't be very welcome into the community for a long time."

"I know."

"The best chance you can get for safety is by going to Lucy's hotel room."

She grimaced, the look of frustration shocking me. "What?"

"You'll have to stay with Lucy," I repeat, grabbing my coat and pulling it on. I grabbed my car keys off the coffee table.

"Lucy and I don't exactly see eye to eye," she replied dryly.

I glanced at her. "I know that. But you two will have to put aside your differences for right now and live with it. We can't afford you two ripping each other in half."

"Okay."

--

"No way!" Lucy glared at her sister, arms crossed. Her glare was cold and uncaring. "No way she's staying here."

"Lucy, listen," I said to her, pulling her arm. "She appeared in my room-"

"What?" she snarled, ripping from my grasp. "You were in her room?!"

Amanda opened her mouth, flushing, "Yes. How else was I going to be able to switch sides?"

"It can't be a coincidence that she's here only a couple days after my parents dropped in for a visit!" Lucy said sharply, looking pissed off.

"Mom and Dad were here?" Amanda asks suddenly, her jaw dropping.

Lucy gave her sister a look through narrowed eyes. "You didn't know?"

"I haven't talked to them in three months," Amanda replied dryly, crossing her arms. "They broke off contact with me."

Lucy blinked. If she was surprised or shocked, she was hiding it well.

"Why not?" she asks very slowly.

"I don't know," she replied impatiently. "If I knew I would of told you by now, don't you think?"

"I guess," I mutter, crossing my arms. Lucy murmured in agreement. "But still, it doesn't add up."

"That's another thing I'm confused about," Amanda told us, biting her lip. "My parents have been hiding something."

"No," Lucy snaps sarcastically, "really?"

Amanda glared at her. "I meant," she said, "something really really bad. It's not good, that's all I have to say."

"Well, then maybe we need to find out what it is," I say coolly.

"Faye, my parents will kill us if we try to snoop," Lucy says.

"Lucy, they'll try to kill us no matter what we do," I shot back, leaning against the wall. "This is our only choice."

Lucy protested, "Yeah but this is reckless! What if it's not worth it at all?"

"Is there anything that's not worth it when it comes to the Slayers?" I retorted. "Lucy, you of all people should know this. Slayers don't just have secrets that are worthless. There's always something."

"Faye's right," Amanda said quietly. "It's always one thing or another."

Lucy pursed her lips. Then, "Fine. I'll book a ticket to my parents house tomorrow."
