22. 𖣘 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐄𝐧𝐝 𖣘

However Caspian didn't notice Jenny and went downstairs after Maily and Edmund still smiling to himself when he heard a female voice.

"They should have talked earlier right?",- Jenny said from behind Caspian and giggled in the end walking downstairs with him.

Caspian turned his head and saw Jenny who was now next to her on the staircase.

He was confused and lost as he didn't expect her to talk to him at that moment. The point was he was feeling strange after what happened in the garden with Maily but he was also happy for her and Edmund.

"So you're not upset about this?",- he asked simply.

"Should I be?",- she answered with a question which not only didn't give the answer but also made Caspian be the one who had to answer both of their questions. This paradoxical situation made him smirk.

"Well? Should I be upset?",- she asked again and smiled sarcastically.

"Ah..I..I don't know-",- he was very soon cut by Jenny.

"Are YOU upset?",- she asked furrowing her eyebrows.

Caspian gave her a confused look but was awkwardly smiling from not knowing what to say. He got surprised by her strange manner making him look a complete...idiot? that's how it is called in London?

He felt himself in a trap and he should give an answer as soon as possible.

"I'm happy for them",- he said smiling and looked at Maily and Edmund that were giving presents to Eustace while he was still walking downstairs with Jennifer.

Jennifer smiled at his answer and finally they were now both at the hall and walked to Eustace to congratulate him once more.

After opening some presents Eustace ran to the dance floor and started dancing. All the others joined him even though not all of them liked dancing ..especially Maily.

However she didn't resist to dance a slow dance with her father Arthur. That's always the most touching moment to dance with your father.

After a few dances May ran to the kitchen and came back with the Birthday Cake and they all sang along to a "Happy Birthday" song.

Happy Birthday to you

Everyone gathered near the birthday cake, and Eustace closed his eyes to make a wish. Then he blew out all the candles and everyone around clapped.

Jenny then pushed Edmund on his arm and gave him a look as a sign. Edmund got confused and a bit nervous, he nodded to Jenny and stood in the middle of the room.

He coughs several times to bring everyone's attention to him.

"Eustace, I want to congratulate you one more time. At first we didn't get along together very well, but things have changed after we appeared here in Narnia last time. I'm happy you're by our side now, I'm so proud of you",-they shook hands and hugged brotherly,- "There's another important thing that happened to me today. I found strength in me to face my feelings...Feelings for Maily",- everyone looked at each other then at Maily who's cheeks colored red.

"I met her here in Narnia and ... we've been through a lot together. I couldn't admit that these were feelings of love. I was lost and somehow confused of what should I do, but we finally admitted it to ourselves...tonight",- Edmund said and walked closer to Maily,- "May, I love you",- there were clapping and shouting from everywhere,- "This girl is my future, the one and only person I want to share my life with",- he said and took Maily's hand.
