Y/N's POV

It had been a long day at work and I was looking forward to getting home and enjoying some time off. That was until my phone went off, snapping me back in to reality.

"Hello? Dr. Y/LN speaking." I say.

"Dr. Y/LN, we need you in the ICU as soon as possible! A 24 year old just came in multiple fractures of her lower extremities, ruptured spleen and shortness of breath. Non-smoker and non-drinker." A nurse frantically states on the other end of the line. And before you ask, yes I'm a doctor at the tender age of 20. I graduated at the top of my class in senior high and quickly made my way through medical school, finishing several years early.

"Alright on my way, keep her stable." I quickly reply, ending the call. I scramble to other side of the hospital and in to the ICU or intensive care unit.

"Dr. Y/LN, right this way." A nurse says, leading me toward a patient room.

"Hello, Mrs. Baker? I'm Y/N Y/LN."

"Yes, I'm Adrianna's mother. Is my daughter going to be okay?" She asks.

"Mrs. Baker, your daughter is very badly injured. If you'll pardon me, I'd like to do an assessment before we proceed any further." I say bluntly.

"Of course, is the doctor going to see her?"

"Mrs. Baker, I am her doctor." She looks at me, her mouth agape. It's a reaction I've seen far too many times. Without saying another word, I begin my exam, making sure not to miss anything.

"Nurse, I would like an actual doctor to see my doctor not some child!"

"Mrs. Baker, I assure you, Doctor Y/LN is one of our best practicing physicians at this hospital. She is far beyond qualified for her role. Trust us, your daughter is in good hands." The nurse says reassuringly.

"Ma'am, your daughter is certainly a fighter. Based on her current condition, I'd say it is time we start with the first part of her treatment which is to repair the damage to her spleen. I'll refer her to Dr. Smith and Dr. Davenport, our best General Surgeons at the hospital, who will preform the operation. They will come as soon as possible to provide you with details regarding the upcoming operation and answer any questions you may have." I say, before heading out of the room. A few more minutes of paperwork later and I'm finally home free. As I made my way to the parking lot, my phone rang again. Groaning, I reluctantly answer the call.

"Hello, Dr. Y/LN speaking."

"Y/N, it's Avery. Are you still at the hospital?" My best friend asks, unimpressed.

"Uh, maybe?"

"I know you want to help people, but it's almost three hours past the end of your shift. At some point, you have to learn to take time for yourself or you're going to get burnt out."

"I know Ave, I'm trying."

"Alright anyways, wanna catch a movie tonight?"

"Do I have a choice?"

"No. How about A Star is Born?"

"Alright, I'll meet you at my place." I say, sighing. Now I know I may feign being annoyed, but I genuinely appreciate having a friend like her looking after me. If it weren't for her, I'd probably died from exhaustion a long time ago. Eventually I get home after sitting in Los Angeles traffic for forty-five minutes and head to my room to get changed. After putting on a comfortable attire and a thin layer of makeup, I unlock the front door before plopping myself down on the couch in the living room.

"Y/N/N!" Somebody yells, causing me to jump up in fright. I quickly rub the sleep out of my eyes to see Avery standing in front of me trying to contain her laughter.

"You're finally awake! I thought you were falling in to a coma." I sent her a glare and give her a playful punch to the arm.

"Come on doofus, let's get to the movie." We make our way to my car and get ourselves comfortable for the long trip to the cinema. Upon our arrival, I notice two beautiful girls arguing in the middle of the parking lot surrounded by what I would assume to be their friends before one stomps away.

"Woah, I wonder what they could have been arguing about?" Avery asks. I shrug my shoulders.

"Beats me, but it looked pretty serious." I say, pulling in to a vacant parking space. The two of us make our way inside the theatre, grabbing a couple of pops and popcorn along the way. As we took our seats, I notice the same the girls from earlier make their way in, eventually to their seats which was a couple of rows in front of us.

"Earth to Y/N, eyes on the screen! The movie is starting!" Avery whispers in to my ear. I chuckle and focus my eyes back on to the large screen. Just as the film approaches its climax, I hear a shout of concern come from in front of me.

"Ky! Kylie! Somebody help!" A second voice then started shouting simultaneously.

"Call 911!" I shot a glance at Avery before rushing to where the commotion arose. As I neared the area, I saw the same girl from the parking lot slumped over in her seat, unresponsive.

"I'm a doctor! I can help." I say. The crowd parted and allowed me through. She looked familiar, but I couldn't quite say from where.

"Miss, can you hear me?" I yelled, shaking her violently. When I got no response and not vital signs, I laid her down on the ground and immediately began CPR until the paramedics arrived, about twenty minutes later.

"Ma'am, we'll take over now. Thank you for your help." One of the paramedics said before I stepped back. A couple minutes later, the girl was placed on the stretcher and wheeled away. Before her friends followed, they stopped to speak to me.

"Thank you so much for your help. Truly, we really appreciated what you did. I'm Bella and this my sister, Gigi."

"There's no need to thank me, I just did what I felt was the right thing." I said. They nodded and quickly left to follow their friend. Avery came up to me and motioned for us to head out.

"Wow, that amazing Y/N, what you did back there." I gave her a weak smile as we made our way outside for a breath of fresh air, nearly running in to a panicked girl in the process. The same girl who stomped away in the parking lot earlier.

"Miss, are you looking for someone?" Avery asks.

"Yes, my sister. She passed out in the movie theatre!"

"Miss, calm down. Your sister is in good hands now, the paramedics came and have taken her to the hospital." I say reassuringly.

"Oh god, I'm such a dumb ass. It was such a stupid argument too! Now I have to get a cab." She said, although it was probably meant only for herself.

"Do you need a ride to the hospital?"
