Look Into My Feelings

"What were you going to say?" whined Christine a few times as Stevie had helped her out of the cab after paying the driver, Christine hadn't even registered the driver, she was basically just whining at Stevie, desperate to know what she was going to tell her in the cab, her mind flittered with hopes of what it could have been and the alcohol and drugs seemed to boost her hopes.

"Nothing, lets just get you upstairs!" Stevie had soothed as she helped her onto the sidewalk, still worried about the state she was in and also regretting how she had almost opened her heart to her so soon after seeing her again but, she didn't need to make Christine or herself even more emotional, it was clear they were both masking their feelings, the time away hadn't been good, it had clearly made them shy and awkward and Stevie mainly worried that Christine was really suffering for some reason.

Christine had giggled at that as her mind darted again over their past with hotels and tours "Sounds interesting!" She exclaimed, grinning and giggling more as she glanced Stevie up and down while still struggling to even walk.

Stevie couldn't help feel shivers go up her spine, but she quickly pushed those feelings and thoughts aside "You need rest!" She said in a motherly tone, wanting to not get Christine's hopes up for anything, even if she wanted to get up to some of the things they used to do, there was no way she would when Christine was the way she was at that moment in time.

"What were you going to say then?" Christine asked again, slurring more as she giggled and Stevie wrapped her arm around her, managing to catch her as she almost fell again which completely distracted her from her thoughts.

Stevie basically held Christine up and was surprised at how light she felt,  she had barely had a chance to look at Christine properly because they had all been sat on the private jet, but now she was gazing over her frail frame and feeling like something really worried to see how thin she was and how pale she appeared.  She felt that something was really bothering Christine and she was obviously using large amounts of cocaine or not taking care of herself and Stevie felt concern completely overwhelm her "Chris..." She stammered, wanting to ask there and then, but she stopped herself by biting down on her bottom lip, it wasn't the time or the place, not while she struggled to finally get Christine staggering into the hotel.

Christine once again stumbled and fell into Stevie's side, trying to cling to her more firmly, shocked by how much the alcohol and drugs were affecting her but she was still engulfed in drunken laughter "Steviiieee" She chuckled, having forgotten most of the previous hour as the alcohol took further effect on her, Stevie was relieved a bit that she stopped pestering her about what she was going to say in the cab at least, she was just stressed trying to keep her from falling flat on her face.

Stevie managed to drag her with her to the counter, glad that it was empty except for one woman behind there who looked at them with a mixture of judgements showing on her face "Room for us thanks?" Stevie asked smiling.

The woman nodded and passed them a key "Mrs Nicks, a room was already booked for you by staff from your band and I am guessing the piano lady is staying with you tonight?"

Stevie got annoyed "Christine McVie is and for your information, she was with Fleetwood Mac before I was and also wrote most of the songs!" Stevie snapped and snatched the key off the woman.

"What's going on?" asked Christine swaying and giggling to Stevie, having not paid attention to anything that was happening, she was just clinging to Stevie and feeling herself on the verge of passing out.

"Sorry!" Stevie heard the woman mumble as she began leading Christine toward an elevator, she was still trying to contain how annoyed the woman had made her, but she was trying to stay calm and be discreet as she could while she tried to get Christine to the hotel suite.

"Nothing is going on Chris, we are just checking in to the hotel, that's all so don't stress sweetheart!" Stevie cooed and she felt Christine seem to relax slightly as 'sweetheart' naturally slipped out of her mouth and she felt Christine softly giggle against her, Christine half fell into her again as they stopped at the elevator, only waiting a few seconds before Stevie helped Christine stumble inside, she  paused about to beg Christine to try to walk or stand better but she didn't.  She was shy and worried that if she said that, she would irritate Christine, it had been years after all and she worried Christine might get really angry with her if she said something that could be taken as hypocritical and she was nervous too that Christine might snap at her or throw a quip about rehab back at her or something, she felt deep down Christine would never do that, but she was nervous anyway, it was her first time with the band since she had stopped taking Klonopin so she was still adjusting herself.

"I hate these!" Christine whinged, glancing about as she heard Stevie press the buttons, which made a electronic beep noise echo through the confined space as the door closed and Christine instantly became anxious, hating the sound and Stevie was a little confused.

"I'm not a big fan myself but it won't be long we are in it for!" Stevie soothed, then glancing at the key she had snatched and seeing they were on one of the higher floors, she knew Christine hopefully would think the ride in the lift went quicker than it was though and wouldn't notice how many floors they would be staying up on since the elevator or the beeping noise seemed to make her anxious.

"Fuck, I feel even dizzier!" Christine whined as the elevator began to go up and she suddenly just cuddled into Stevie, her own mind fuzzy and confused and to her, Stevie meant safety especially in her startled and anxious state.

Stevie felt heart skip a beat, feeling Christine up against her and she naturally wrapped her arms around her, still shocked at how she was acting, but all she wanted to do was comfort her and be there for her, she was shocked when Christine winced and muttered an 'ouch' as she gently cuddled her closely.

"Are you alright?" Stevie asked in concern then regretting asking her because she felt it was a stupid question to ask her when she was clearly not alright, especially with how drunk and high she was.

Christine wanted to cling to Stevie but a million things were rushing through her mind and she pulled back fast, startling Stevie "I'm fucked up, very fucked up!" She slurred, seeming more sad than joking and she backed away into the opposite wall of the lift, leaning against and seeming to wrap her arms around herself.

Stevie was surprised, she didn't expect this, for Christine to be like especially now at this time of their lives and she felt she had scared her or something and her concerns grew immensely "Chris, you are still perfect to me!" Stevie cooed, unable to stop herself from slowly taking a step to Christine, just wanting to do anything to make her feel better or cheer her up.

Christine sniggered and then laughed, determined to not let on to Stevie how she truly was feeling, not even in her drunken and high state, she had learnt she spilled too many of her feelings under the influence and was determined not to this time, not yet, Stevie would be in a happy place, she was looking healthy and Christine didn't want to drag down to her level, or shower her in the darkness that had overtaken her "If I was perfect, everyone wouldn't leave me!" She couldn't help chuckle even though saying it hurt her.

Stevie felt the words cut like a knife and she felt weighed down with guilt as it was more cleared Christine was hurting and was keeping secrets "Chris...." She began, hearing her own voice choke up but she then watched as Christine flittered her eyes closed and began slumping as she clearly started passing out from whatever she had in her system "Christine!" Stevie exclaimed, almost yelling and rushing over, managing to catch Christine before she fell completely as her knees buckled out and Stevie was panicking.
