The next morning I woke up with a terrible ache in my stomach. I winced at the pain and pressed a hand against the spot. I knew what this meant, my mom had educated me often enough.

Heat.

The cramps were a forewarning for the first heat I would experience. Now that I was ready to mate, monthly heats would come my way. They would last for roughly a week where I would feel extreme pain if I didn't.. well mate. However, it wasn't only the females being affected. A male would feel the need to mate their mate as the female spread an intoxicating, sweet scent to lure him in. The male would feel very protective of their mate because of her vulnerable state and the fact that other males could take advantage of her.

I wasn't looking forward to it. I wanted to decide myself when I felt ready to mate with Yoongi. Not to mention that Yoongi probably felt more attracted to a foot than to me.

A knock on my door pulled me out of my thoughts and I peaked my head out of the sheets to see a familiar girl stand in the doorframe.

"Wanna go shopping?"

I forced a smile at Aurelia and got out of bed although my lower region felt like someone was continuously stabbing me from the inside.

"I'd love to!" Considering the fact that I slept in Yoongi's shirt that he eventually gave me last night. Talking about Yoongi..—
"But I don't think Yoongi will let me go." I sighed, remembering his words from yesterday.

Aurelia giggled and walked up to me. She wrapped her arm around my shoulder and pushed me towards the shower with some clothes of hers.

I wasn't sure how Aurelia managed to get Yoongi to let me go shopping with her and Jade, but I frankly didn't really care enough to question it.

We drove to the closest town that had quite a lot shops and spend our day buying whatever I needed for my stay at the pack house. Aurelia told me not to worry about the money and I figured that it was Yoongi's credit card that had repeatedly been swiped over the paying machine.

When we were done, we made our way back to the packhouse. I was satisfied with everything I bought and couldn't wait to finally wear something that wouldn't constantly slip off my shoulder.

"I really had a great time today, guys." I beamed from the back of the car and Jade and Aurelia smiled back at me through the rear view mirror.

"No problem. We're happy to finally have someone decent join the pack." Aurelia answered and I couldn't help but frown a little. I wasn't a part of the pack yet and although I hoped to join soon, I wasn't sure whether Yoongi would want me to.

Jade elbowed Aurelia in the side which made the car slightly swing to the left. I giggled at the funny feeling in my gut while Aurelia frowned at Jade, "I'm driving if you haven't noticed."

The bickering stopped when we arrived at the packhouse and a strong sour smell entered my sensitive nose. I got out of the car and rushed inside, following the scent till I arrived in the living room.

Most of the guys and some people from the pack were sitting on the floor or couches, listening attentively to the black haired woman talking. She was the only one standing together with Yoongi beside her and it seemed like it was a pack meeting being held.

Elena's back was towards mine and it didn't seem like she noticed me as she was in the middle of holding a speech. Yoongi however sensed me and swiftly shot me a glance.

"Wolves of the arctic are known to be withdrawn and conservative. There's a reason as to why Taehyung is the only lucidus in this pack. We cannot allow the northern species to ruin the harmony and openness we've achieved with so much hard work." She spoke loudly and some of the pack members began whispering among themselves.

I glanced over at Taehyung and noticed the way his fists were clenched. He was glaring at Elena with an intensity that made me shudder.
However, Taehyung could control himself, while I couldn't.

"Elena." I spoke and successfully got her to turn around and face me. A smile formed on her red lips and she elegantly made her way towards me. The room had fallen silent and everyone watched the interaction with curiosity and worry.

"Rose, I had been wondering when I would see you again."

"A deal." I muttered, "I wanna make a deal with you."

She cocked her head to the side and blinked a few times, "What deal?"

I could feel my wolf shining through as an animalistic growl left me. Elena widened her eyes at my demeanor and instantly got the hint.

My wolf was challenging her. Challenging her to fight me and let our wolves decide who was superior. A proud wolf like Elena wouldn't back down, especially with the whole pack watching. I could see slight insecurity in her eyes as she warily glanced over to Yoongi.

"If I win," I began and let my eyes trail over to my brother and finally Yoongi, "You'll leave Yoongi and the pack." I spoke and Elena immediately flashed a grin, "And if I lose..," I hesitated a little and took a deep breath in, "I'll go back to the arctic and never come back."

Taehyung jumped off the couch and glared my way, "That's foolish Rose! You already own your position, you don't have to win it over!"

I shook my head at him and smiled bitterly, "No I don't." I mumbled and turned around, making my way outside. I wasn't respected because Yoongi didn't respect me. He didn't introduce me to the pack nor did he declare me to be the soon to be luna. They underestimated me. I was a hunter in my pack at home. I mastered fighting tactics that only lucidus knew of. Frankly, I wasn't the strongest wolf, but I was quick and swift.

Elena followed me outside and stopped when she was a few meters away from me. The pack came along and waited close to the house, giving us enough space to fight.

She pushed her hair in a tight bun and smirked at me, "You're gonna regret this."
