I lay my chin against the desk as I watch my new classmates fool around before homeroom started. It was near the end of senior year, and I was the new kid. In front of me, I could see a short boy, roughly 5 foot 7 inches ruffling through a new notebook, looking for something. The lined paper floated in the air, one paper shuffling against another as the boy looked through his notes. Another kid, in the corner of my eye, was standing on the ceiling teasing their friend by poking their afro and diving back up before her angry flames reached her. Their other friend simply sat in her chair, her eyes on the screen as she occasionally looked up to check on them.

I could see a small trio of people walking towards me. I shuffled myself, so I could rearrange my head to turn away from them. I didn't want to socially interact with people at the moment. Unfortunately for me, they were a persistent bunch that tapped me on the shoulder.

"Hello?" One of the boys asked. I sighed internally and sat up and cleared my throat.

"Yes?" I pointedly asked. I was tired and didn't want to talk to him. Or any of them really. The boy standing in front of me was a tall boy with a buzz cut and brown eyes. He had freckles dotting his narrow face, and his crooked nose indicated he had been involved in past fights. He wore a blue t-shirt with some khakis. His arms were crossed and his head was turned up as if he was trying to look down on me.

The girl behind him had dark black hair tied into a simple bun with dark chocolate skin. Her eyes were a bright blue, due to either wearing contacts or using her powers, I wasn't sure, and she was an average height. She was scrolling on her phone, a bubblegum bubble popping on her purple-tinted lips. She glanced up at me dismissively and looked back down at her phone.

The last person shyly stood behind the girl. He seemed short with bright blue hair, but the color seemed to change every few seconds. He wore a pair of thick glasses, a pair of every-changing eye colors darting back and forth, trying to avoid my gaze. He wore baggy clothing and a small beanie which he pulled on as if he was trying to cover something.

"What's your power?" The tall boy asked.

Ah. Of course.

"I don't know. What is it?" I mused, a small mischievous smile making its way upon my lips. They looked at each other confused as if they weren't expecting this answer.

"Uh, we don't know?" The small boy behind them said, his voice lilting into a question at the end. I rolled my eyes and let out a sigh of amusement.

"Well, I don't have a reason to tell you. So, I'm not going to." I said stretching my arms and laying them behind my head. The tall boy huffed, his eyebrows drawing in, wrinkling his smooth skin. The girl behind him just sighed and tapped his shoulder. He turned his head back, and the girl jerked her head towards the clock, indicating class was going to start soon.

"We'll find out sooner or later." He growled and turned away, his little posse following him to their seats. I knew that eventually, I would have to reveal my powers, but for now, I think I'll toy with them for a bit.
