Chapter 2

Hi. You're probably really confused right now, so allow me to explain. My name is Katelyn Rivers, but everyone calls me Kate. I am nineteen years old and a werewolf. I live in Lorrel, Maine and I'm part of the Blue Moon pack. When my parents were killed in a rouge attack when I was fifteen I decided to live with my best friend Blake Tyler. Her mother was human and when she died of cancer when Blake was ten, her father died of heartbreak a year later so she was more than happy to move in with me instead of living with her crazy cousins. We both had a lot of friends at school considering we were the only popular girls who weren't complete bitches, but throughout our lives we really only had each other to count on one-hundred percent of the time. We looked after each other through all the ups and downs. You wouldn't believe some of the things we've survived. Oh, and did I forget to mention, my mother, she was a nature spirit. Just so you know nature spirits are like witches that can influence the elements and have advanced, well, everything, also, animals love them. So I'm half werewolf, and half nature spirit, which ended in me having all sorts of random freaky powers. No-one but Blake knows though. Overall I think it's safe to say I've had a fairly complicated life. This is the story of how my life went from fairly complicated, to full on crazy.

Kate's POV

I throw my annoying hair that goes down to the bottom of my rib cage up into a bun and reach for my sweater. Then I hear three knocks, I tiptoe over to the door and look through the peep hole to see Blake waiting patiently outside the door. I throw it open and dramatically exclaim, "Well it took you long enough".
She gasps as if offended and playfully glares at me "How rude! Katie you really need to work on your manners".
I laugh and wrap her in a hug, then pull her inside and close the door. "You may not be an actress, but that was well done my friend", I compliment.
"Why thank you. Although I'm sure you could have done better, being that you actually are an actress", she replies.
"Better?! There is no such thing! That was a fantastic performance. I was here, on the other side of the city, watching through a security camera and I was nearly in tears by how you reacted to my death".
"Well thank you", I look over and see her sitting on the edge of the bed and smiling with all her perfect features. Her subtle dimples surrounded by all her little freckles, long tan legs crossed, flowing blonde hair in it's usual high ponytail, and pale green eyes full of life.
"Did you get everything?"
"Yep, it's all right here", she gestured to her bags, all labeled Forever Twenty-One or Victoria's Secret or something like that. Then she reached over and started pulling grocery bags out of some of them and anything else a rouge wolf could need from the others. "I've got rope, running shoes, surveillance equipment, flashlights, and pretty much everything you could ask for", she announced proudly.
"You, are brilliant", I smiled. After a moment I broke the silence, "So they really think I'm dead?" I asked hopefully.
"Completely". When she said that I sighed in relief. "Your plan went off without a hitch".
"Good", I could finally relax. " And may I just say", I started pointing to the red stain on the skin over my heart, "Nice shot".

*Flashback*

Blake's POV

I ran after her, following her movements as she leapt over roots and rocks. As we neared the cliffs I slowed down as she burst through the brush and I looked through the branches over the side to see a group of pack members looking up at her. Then, I jumped out and pointed the glock at her.
"Look at me!" I shouted as she stared at the gun.
"Please", she whispered. Damn she's good at this, she looked so scared. Then she lunged for me, and I fired. I saw the red paint from the dye pack seeping down her shirt. I saw her stumble and I turned and ran. No matter how many times I had seen her take this fall in our rehearsals, the sight of my best friend falling backwards off of a cliff still terrified me. I ran and ran until I got to the hunter jeep we had "borrowed". I stuffed the fake gun in it and pulled out the real one still stocked full of silver bullets. Then I took two of them out with my gloved hands, threw the gun on the ground for the pack to find and drove into town. I then ditched the jeep, gun, and clothing and went into the mall. Time for some shopping.
