Kate's POV
We drove for about twenty minutes before pulling up at a very large and beautiful house. We pulled up into the empty driveway and parked. I smiled Blake. We had to wait patiently for the boys to get out of the car and open our doors because they insisted that we don't have to open doors for ourselves. Then we stepped out and I turned to Daniel and saw that his collar was crooked.
"Danny, your collar's messed up", I tell him as I pull him towards me to fix it.
He smiles brightly, "I love it when you call me that". I adjust his collar and smile up at him. Before I can say anything I hear a high-pitched squeal and I turn around just in time to be engulfed in a pair of thin arms.
The woman pulls back and I immediately can tell that she is Daniel's mother. She is very pretty, she has long blonde curly hair, Daniel's forest green eyes, and is about 5'7. She does not look old enough to have a twenty-four year old son. "Oh you're Kate, right? It's so wonderful to meet you Kate", she's talking a mile a minute. "I'm Lucy, Daniel's mother, we talked on the phone. I'm so excited that your here-"
"Mother I think you're scaring her", Daniel complains.
"He's right Lucy, you have to let the girl breathe", I hear a deep male voice chuckle from behind Lucy. It's obvious that he's Daniel's father. He has the same rugged black hair although his is a bit longer. He has ice blue eyes, is about 6'3, and is very muscular. I must admit he's really good looking for having a son Daniel's age.
Lucy huffs and takes a step back, "Sorry sweetie. I'm just excited is all".
I smile warmly at her, "It's totally alright. I don't mind at all".
She beams and pulls me into another bone-crushing hug. When she pulls back she looks at Daniel, "I like her already".
We both smile. Then I hear another high-pitched voice, "Is that Blake?!" Then I see her tackled like I was. She made an 'oof' sound but didn't fall.
"Aria", another male voice. Then I see the owner of said voice walk over and literally pull James' mother off of Blake.
"James! Put me down", she pouts at him. He chuckles and sets her on the ground. "Oh it's so good to meet you Blake I'm so happy you're here. Are you happy here? Has he been good to you? He had better have been good to you or-"
"Honey", James Sr. interrupts her. "You have to give the girl a chance to answer your questions".
"Right", she says with realization. As Blake answers I take a moment to study them. Ariana, or Aria, has long red hair, dark blue eyes, and is about 5'6. She is also very pretty and young looking. James is practically an exact replica of his father. James Sr. has his same dark brown hair and hazel eyes. He is very muscular and is about 6'3. Then I'm snapped out of my trance by Aria calling out, "Cody come out here and meet your brother's mate". Then a boy, probably about sixteen years old comes out of the house and walks over to us. Despite his somewhat young age he's almost 6'0 ft tall. He has light brown hair with a hint of red in it, dark blue eyes like his mother, and he's pretty muscular. Aria grabbed his arm and dragged him closer to us. "Blake, Kate, this is my other son Cody".
"Hi, it's nice to meet you", he says, somewhat uncomfortably.
Blake and I both smile warmly at him, "It's very nice too meet you too". Blake says.
"So I heard you had a sister. And now that I think about it", I turn to Daniel. "Your supposed to have two of them. It seems we're missing three people".
"Oh yeah, they'll be here soon", Cody explains. "Alyssa took Ellie and Rilynn shopping and they said they'd probably be a little late".
"Alright then, we'll wait for them before we start eating. Why don't we all go inside", Lucy suggests. We all agree and head to their living room.
"You have a really beautiful home", I tell her.
"Why thank you", she says and we all sit down while Lucy puts a tray of fruit in the middle of us.
"So, Kate, Blake, why don't you tell us about yourselves", Daniel's dad suggests (his name is Xavier).
"Ok well", Blake starts.
"We actually came here together. We've been best friends all our lives", I explain.
"Oh really?" Lucy asks surprised.
"Yeah. So um, well we were actually rouges when we came here", they looked surprised at Blake's sudden explanation.
"We left our old pack because of some... Bad blood, you could say, between us and Alpha Richard". Daniel growled at the mention of Richard's name and pulled me to him. I put a hand on his face to calm him down.
"What do you man by bad blood?", Cody asks. Aria subtly elbows him.
I sigh, "Well we might as well get past this part as quick as possible. I was forced into an arranged marriage with the alpha to secure his position until his son turned twenty-five because Isaac had a mate, but Richard no longer did". The women gasped and the men growled, their instincts to protect their future Luna coming out. "It's alright. As much as I hated him for it, if he hadn't we never would have left and I never would've met Daniel", I smiled up at him and the women aww'd. Then the door opened and three girls rushed in.
"I'm sorry we're late", the one who I'm assuming is Alyssa called.
"No problem", I tell her.
"Still, sorry. Hi", she says smiling sheepishly. "I'm Alyssa, and this is Ellie, and Rilynn", she says pointing to the two girls. Alyssa is about 5'9, has her father's black hair (but it's curly like her mother's), her father's ice-blue eyes, and very fair skin. If I thought James looked like his father, then the girl Alyssa identified as Ellie is practically her mother's clone. She has her mother's bouncy blonde curls, her figure (although she's only about 5'5), her complexion, the only thing that's not the same is her ice blue eyes. Lastly Rilynn has her mother's red hair, her fathers hazel eyes, and is about 5'6. After everyone has been introduced and the girls are caught up to speed we're all still sitting in the living room.
"I don't mean to press", Rilynn started. "But you weren't the one being forced into an arranged marriage, so why did you run away?", she asked Blake.
"Oh, well, both of our parents have been gone for quite some time, and while I had a lot of friends in our pack, Katie is my family. And I wasn't about to let her leave me behind, or marry that... jerk", she just barely stopped herself from cursing.
"That's quite a wonderful friendship you girls have there", James Sr. comments.
"Yeah, she always has my back. And I'll always have hers", I say smiling.
"Are you ever worried that he'll find you", Ellie asked.
Daniel growled, I put a calming hand on his, "Well there's always a possibility-" Daniel growled again. "But. I doubt it, because he's not looking for me", this surprises everyone.
"Really?" Alyssa asked. "From what you told us I would have expected him to do everything he could to bring you back".
"Oh I'm sure he would. But, for now at least, he doesn't know he's capable for finding me", they all look at me with confused expressions.
"He thinks she's dead", Blake says simply. Every head in the room turns to stare at her as she pops a grape into her mouth.
I laugh, "Way to be mysterious Blake". She shrugs. Then they all turn back to me.
"What do you mean he thinks your dead? Why would he think that?", Daniel asks, clearly not remembering what Richard told him over the phone.
"Oh", I laugh nervously. "Funny story. He kinda saw me get chased through the woods by a hunter and shot off of a cliff". I picked up a raspberry and ate it.
"What?!?!", everyone yelled as they leapt up.
"You were shot by a hunter?!", Daniel shouts.
"Oh no", Blake laughs. "She was shot by me". She eats a strawberry. Everyone just stares, completely dumbstruck.
"Yeah but don't worry it wasn't a real bullet. It didn't even really hurt. The hundred foot fall kind of did, but the dye pack, not so much", I explained.
"Oh!" Ellie gasped. "You staged your death". There were mummers of 'oh's and 'wow's around the room as everyone started to sit down.
"Yep. And then I played the heartbroken best friend who couldn't stand to be in the place where her best friend died", Blake explained.
Then something seemed to dawn on Cody, "Wait, did you say hundred foot drop?"
"Oh yeah", I say remembering the exhilaration of that fall. "People call the cliff free fall. It's one hundred feet straight down into the jagged rock filled waters below. Werewolves used to go out and try jumping off it but when a few people died the state banned it", I shrugged.
"And you willingly fell backwards off of it! That's insane!!!!", Daniel exclaims.
"That's what I told her", Blake mutters.
"Oh don't be a hypocrite you jumped off it too", I tell her.
"What!?", James yells.
"Yeah but I didn't go off backwards", she retorts. I just scoff.
"Why would you do that?!", Daniel shouts.
"Relax Daniel, there was like a two percent chance I'd hit one of the rocks".
"That and she's kind of a daredevil", Blake adds.
"Why was there such a small chance?", James asked calmly.
"Because I knew what I was doing. I've been jumping off that cliff since I was thirteen", they gasped. "Now don't go thinking I'm crazy because I might be but this was not because of that. The few people that didn't survive were the ones who weren't careful. The ones who just ran and jumped directly towards the rocks. Or the ones who weren't werewolves, I doubt any humans could have survived that drop. But if you know what you're doing and you fall at the right angle, and you're a werewolf, there is a zero percent chance of death. The only reason there was a two percent chance was because I went backwards".
"Cool", Cody says.
"And as much as I didn't like the idea of her going off backwards, she was smart about it, she'd done it before, and she wasn't careless", Blake explains. "She did it right and she did it well and we're here today because of that". After our mates finally stopped nagging us about how dangerous it was we all went to eat. We had somehow gotten onto the topic of telling stories.
"So I told him", I said, laughing as I spoke. "I'm sorry about your arm Robbie, I really am, but I warned you not to go in my room. It's not my fault he scared you so bad you fell off the balcony". Everyone was laughing.
"Oh my gosh he was so mad", Blake said laughing. "He tried to get us in trouble by telling Isaac, but he actually sided with us". By this point everyone was cracking up. We talked, told stories, and laughed for hours until it was time to go home.
"It was really great meeting all of you guys", I say to the crowd of people waving goodbye.
"We had a fantastic time getting to know you", Blake added.
"As did we", Lucy said smiling at me.
"We'll see you at the introduction ceremony", Aria calls.
"But that's not until Saturday", Ellie whines. "I can't wait that long to know how they made those shoe thingies".
"And I want to learn to use a chainsaw", Rilynn adds. We all turn to her. "What? It sounds fun"
"Oh, well, if it's alright with everyone, tomorrow's Friday night..." I glance at Blake to see if she gets what I mean.
She smiles, "Oh that's right!"
"I'm lost", Alyssa says.
"Back home, we used to have a thing we did on Fridays that we called sleepover night. Granted every night is a sleepover when you live together, but on Fridays we'd do all the stuff that you'd normally do at a slumber party", I explained.
"So if y'all would like to-"
"That would be so fun!" Ellie shouted.
We smiled at her and turned to the other two, "What do you guys think?"
"That sounds awesome", Alyssa says.
"Yeah", Rilynn agrees.
"Great", Blake says excitedly.
"Are you okay with this Daniel?", I ask. He smiles.
"It sounds like a fantastic idea".
"Awesome", I turn back to the girls. "If you want you can invite a few more people". We talk about it for a little while and we agree that the three of them will come over at six o'clock tomorrow night. We decided that we were going to invite Michael's mate Allison, Alyssa is going to bring her friend Nikita (or Nikki), Rilynn is going to bring her friend Erin, and Ellie will bring her friend Zola. Nine girls, ages ranging from fourteen to twenty-three, in one bedroom, on a Friday night. What could go wrong?
