Chapter 9: A Hurting Pride...

(Ninja's POV)

Sensei came in the ninja's room gong crashing. "Evil doesn't sleep, and neither should you." Sensei said still crashing the gong.

All the boys groaned and turned over. "In order to reach your full potential, we must greet each day as an opportunity!" Sensei shouted over the gong.

"Okay, okay we're up." Kai said getting up from his bed. "But if you want us to reach our full potential shouldn't we at least get a full night of rest?" Kai yawned and opened a blind which fell off.

"You call that rest?" Cole complained, "I thin my back has more lumps than the mattress."

Jay picked up his tooth brush and held it under the foist sand came out instead of water...

"What is our lesson today, Sensei?" Zane said stretching, "Mastering the strike of the scorpion? Or perhaps the grace of a--" Zane fell through the floor.

"I think today's lesson will be chores." Everyone complained. Sensei spoke once more, Kai complained again. But Sensei convinced them to put their backs into it.

Jay proposed to put more then their backs into it, with Spinjitzu! Cole cleaned out the rooms of junk, Zane would freeze the room and then Kai would melt it.

Jay powered up the devices, and everyone helped pull open the sails and dusted off the deck.

Sensei and Nya had walked through the door, the ninja play video games. "What took you so long." Kai questioned sarcastically.

"Wow this place looks amazing!" Nya said.

"Ninja don't just fight, Nya. We clean..." There was a different tone in Cole's voice only Jay noticed it, and gave a glare but no one noticed.

"Oh you have exceeded my expectations. But can you keep it up?" Sensei stroked his beard.

"It looks like we're about to have some visitors. And loud ones at that."

Jay turned around, "oh, it's my parents. Please, if they start yapping just don't get them going okay? They just don't know when to quit. And if you start talking then, they'll start talking and suddenly half the day is gone--" Jay ranted until Kai interrupted him.

"We get it. They talk a lot. Cherry doesn't fall far from the blossom." Whispered the last part under his breath.

Outside Jay's parents lightly crashed into the junk outside. "Oh, heh. Take a note, Edna. Either better breaks or a better bumper." Ed said throwing up his glasses. "Look at all this great stuff! They just can't get rid of it! We should have brought the trailer, Edna"

"This ain't a flea market, Ed. We're hear for Jay..." Edna said but her husband ignored her, "How's that? Did you take the note?"

"I'm writing it down, Ed."

(Meanwhile with Lloyd and Sealia...)

"So what serpentine are you awakening now?" Sealia came up behind Lloyd, and he jumped. "What?! I'm not doing anything like that!"

"Uhmm... and that's why you took the serpentine map? The Fangpyres eh?" Sealia looked over his shoulders.

They both walked into a cemetery, "It's not scary. Right, Sealia?" Lloyd got no response, he turn around and Sealia was still at the gateway.

"Your not scared of cemeteries are you?" Lloyd teased hoping to get rid of the fear welling up inside him.

Sealia shook her head. "It's just, it's just I'm scared one day I'll find my friend, dead and buried. It's been eleven years since I last saw I him." Sealia said in sorrow with her head down.
