The stench from the tavern I worked in wriggled its way up into my nose, overloading my senses. It stunk of alcohol and sweat, and sounded like a zoo. Drunks would roar at all times of the day, even in the early mornings. I suppose I'm used to it now, I've been working here for ages. To be honest, I found it quite interesting when all the pirates would come back from their travels to enjoy some alcohol with friends. They'd tell stories they'd collected from overseas, exchange gifts of money and jewels to each other and just enjoy themselves before they set off on their next voyage. We've had a lot of famous pirates here, like Blackbeard, Charles Vane and Benjamin Hornigold. The one pirate who we had never had in here was the famous Edward Kenway. He was only stories here, from his companions. They'd tell us all that he'd visit soon but he's never set foot in here before.

"Hey! Earth to Y/N!" My friend Anne called to me. I snapped out of my daydream and smiled. "Thinking about Kenway again, huh?" She asked, grinning at me. Playfully slapping her on the arm, I got back to serving people their drinks. "Maybe I was..." I thought, internally smiling to myself. I'd heard descriptions of him, but I had yet to see him with my own eyes. According to the guys who came in, he had sandy blonde, shoulder length hair and bright blue eyes. He sounded quite attractive in my books but, descriptions may just be flattery.

A few days later...

Today the tavern seemed louder than usual. Yes, it was normally insanely loud but today something is up. People we're drinking more, loosening up more. "Anne, have you got any idea why everyone's acting like this?" I questioned, brows furrowing as I asked the question. Even she looked in a better mood today. "You'll never guess who arrived this morning!" She beamed, still washing the mug in her hand. "Uhh," I pondered for a moment. "James is back?"
"No, dumbass! Edward!"
I grinned. "You're serious?" I gasped. As she nodded, the tavern doors swung open and the drunks all cheered. I could only assume that this was Edward. He raised his arms in the air and strolled in, taking a seat with his friends. "Don't worry, I'll take you over to him in a moment," Anne teased. I blushed and continued to serve people their hard-earned rum. After a few minutes, Anne pulled my arm and dragged me away from the bar. It took a split-second before I realized just where she was taking me.

"Hey Edward!" She called, waving to him. Looking at him in person, he was even more attractive. His beach blonde hair hung loose as it brushed against his shoulders. I couldn't begin to explain how vibrant his eyes were. They were sparkling and blue, his lids outlined in black pencil. He grinned. "Alright?" He said. His accent was incredible! "Yeah, thanks. This is Y/N, she's been desperate to meet you," she giggled. I smiled shyly and nodded to him. "Alright, lass?" He said, smiling. "Go sit with him Y/N, I'll take care of the bar," Anne murmured to me, smirking. I went to go sit with him and he smiled kindly at me. I felt my cheeks basically set alight. "Y/N! You've only just met the man! Stop it!" My thoughts screamed at you. "So you're the Y/N everyone speaks so highly of, huh?" He asked cheekily, flashing a laddish smile. "Indeed I am,"  I teased back.
"I think getting to know each other wouldn't go a miss, lass," Edward smiled, flashing a wink in my direction.
"I think you're right."

Short but sweet
