Friday came not as soon as expected. But isn't it always like that? A few tests in school here and there and new information add up to the insomnia - and you're totally drained. That was a usual weekly thing for Taehyung, although today, since its friday, he had more energy. He's going to Jeongguk's place today, hoping, that it will be like old times. At least a bit.
It was almost lunchtime so he and Jeongguk decided to meet up, grab some snacks and plan their evening. Their evening. The bell rang and Tae sprang up from his chair and went to the vending machines, which were two stories below.
As he was walking he greeted a few teachers and students he knew. He passed the library, too, noticing that there's much more people than it used to be. 'I guess Namjoon does his work better than the last librarian. Or maybe it's just his good looks' - he thought to himself. Taehyung still missed miss Eun, they had some good and honest conversations at times. It's mostly book reviews, though.
If there was less people there, maybe Tae would've came in and said hi, but there wasn't. He took a mental note to come back here after all the classes finished. He needed some books, anyway.
Taehyung heard the beep of the vending machine as it scanned his card and he proceeded to take all the snacks he bought. Jeongguk and him decided to meet in their curator's class, which was a safe space for them. He was glad no snacks fell out of his hands on the way there. That class was sometimes called the aquarium, since it had windows for walls, quite literally. Because of that, Tae instantly spotted Jeongguk on the green sofas, eyes burried deep in his see-through phone screen, not even noticing the other boy coming in; or rather not wanting to look at anyone. As Taehyung started to spill all the goods on the sofa next to Jeongguk, only then did he look at him and realised who it is and smiled. Quite rare sight.
"Took you long enough".
"Hey! not even a 'hello'?"
"Thanks" - Jeongguk grinned, holding some candy bar, struggling to open it.
"I swear to god".
"God probably didn't swear, so don't do that".
They laughed at their stupid conversation. It really suddenly was like old times, huh? Taehyung inspected the can of juice before opening it - "100% real orange juice, my ass" - he murmured. It didn't taste good like always, but it's a tradition to buy it anyways.
"When do your classes end?" -Jeongguk asked.
"About 3pm, yours?"
"This was the last one for me so I'll head home. History teacher got sick - can you believe it?"
"I feel bad for feeling glad...wait, that rhymes!"
"Make a song. It's been a while since you've created any".
Taehyung paused, mind wandering back to the times when he stayed up late just so he would be able to finish writing the words. Or to the times when he sang at all. Now he couldn't remember any of the songs, just bits, maybe.
"It's been two years, Guk. I bet I don't have the voice for it anymore".
"Let's write one together today. I have a synth, too".
"Nope".
"Do you have any other fun suggestions besides watching movies, then? "
"We could smash some bottles".
"...No, we couldnt, Taehyung!"
"Yeah, we could. Got a bat still?"
The stupid conversations and them laughing at themselves continued until the bell rang and they said their see-you's.
"4pm sharp at my house".
Tae laughed - "Can't promise!"•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
