"Thanks for tonight, really!“

"This is not a time to be sentimental,
Tae!"

"I am not!"

It was 2AM. Taehyung and Jeongguk had just said their goodbyes. More like shouted to each other, looking back or walking backwards, as they parted their ways. Nothing special.

Although one of them wished it was. At least somewhat.

'Selfish.'

Of course, it was a night and evening well spent: doing anything that came to mind, going with the flow and still having a blast.

Although he knew that none of his actions would be right - he still felt the need for that one single thing to be real.

'You're so selfish.'

On the other side of the street, as Taehyung's feet were rhythmically hitting the ground, his thoughts went back to the conversation he had with Jeongguk and how it got nowhere. He lost count of how many tries and failed attempts there were:

'Can we talk about this some other time?' - my ass.

'Sure' - yeah, definitely.

Despite his thoughts annoying the living hell out of him - he wasn't planning to go back to so-called home yet and sleep. He wanted to see the skyscraper again. Therefore - he did. It wasn't too far and the building's green lights could be seen reflected on the smog and beyond from where he was at the moment.

Nights in the city were dangerous even with androids patrolling. So the boy avoided alleys and less busy streets. Crime rates have been going up slowly but surely the past century.

All of the information is publicly accessible, so he couldn't have been the only one to notice that every three years there's a huge drop in crimes for just a single day or two. He didn't want to be suspicious of the government, because his suspicions aren't reasonable.

Then it clicked.

Something.

He heard the 'three years' phrase somewhere else.

'Did you become a Neo Sherlock Holmes or something?' - he thought to himself, a giggle almost coming out but being instantly replaced by another word:

"Jeongguk."

And there it was. The skyscraper in all its glory, right in front of Taehyung's widened eyes.

In the meantime, Guk was throwing himself on the bed for the fourth time, because it never felt quite right. Eventually he gave up and burried himself in the sheets, having zero energy left.

His phone rang. Seemed like a text. He'd check it out in the morning.

'No. Now.'

The message was weird. Encrypted number and location but not the name.

It even got rid of his sleepiness. But he still couldn't think straight to decide for himself.

Hence, he used his power. It would be an understatement to say that his eyes glowed like those vintage glow in the dark stars. No, they glowed like the moon that he has never seen.

Answer intuition can be used for good and bad. But he chose to ignore the bad outcomes long ago.

Although this time he knew - it was for the good.

He knew that he had to go.
