Tengen laid awake in his bed after his encounter with the Shadow Pillar. Her dark blue ocean eyes lingered in his mind along with the way her long brown hair flowed. Her voice held nothing but concern and gentleness with no ulterior motive.
He wanted to know her more.
Tengen was one of nine children from a surviving line of shinobi. However, seven of his siblings died by the time he was 15, leaving only him and the second-youngest brother. The harsh, abusive training their father made them endure made his brother become just like their father: uncaring towards life and using people as tools.
Disgusted by this worldview, Tengen chose to rebel with the values that were instilled in him during his youth. He instructed himself that if he ever had a lover in the same place as him, he would tell her to value her own life first, innocent civilians second, and his own last, even though it completely defied his training.
Sometime later, they were taken in by Ubuyashiki Kagaya and Tengen joined the Demon Slayers. He became a Pillar sometime before, as he was present at Sanemi's first Pillar meeting and expressed annoyance when the new Pillar confronted their leader.

Months Later
It had been a few months ever since Kyojuro went against the Upper Moon Three, and a few months for him to recover. [name] woke up to the sound of screaming, and she yawned. The first thing she did was to get up from her bed and wash up, not really minding the screaming for she believed it was probably Zenitsu in extremely harsh training.
After she had washed up, she headed to the room where Nezuko was staying in. Upon opening the door, she saw Nezuko awake, sitting on the bed. [name] smiled when Nezuko looked towards her, and she walked in. Ruffling the little demon girl's head in a gentle gesture, and then looking straight into her pale pink eyes.
"Good morning, Nezuko," she spoke and Nezuko smiled despite having the bamboo gag in her mouth. [name] then started to braid Nezuko's hair, in the form of Mitsuri's ones and she was happy to see that Nezuko was happy with the outcome, hugging her tightly.
"Stay here and rest alright? I'm sure your brother will be coming to see you soon," and she lightly patted Nezuko on the cheek and turned to walk away.
[name]'s ears perked up once more as she heard the screams again. She sighed and soon left her Shadow Estate, under the bright sunlight. Her eyes winced slightly as she wasn't used to the brightness since she always trained in the shadows. She then headed towards the sounds of screaming.
[name]'s eyes widened when she saw Tengen trying to kidnap several girls from the Butterfly Estate, and even Kanao started to move and grabbed hold of Aoi's hand. [name] then quickly hid in the shadows as she spotted Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke confronting the Sound Pillar.
[name]'s eyes widened when Tengen agrees to let go of the girls, and that Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke will help him on his mission. [name] wondered what the mission was.
The Sound Pillar agrees and reveals that his mission is to investigate the Red Light District after hearing that an Upper Moon was lurking about due to [name]'s information. [name] wondered why Tengen wanted to enter the district after hearing her findings.

"Oyakata-sama," [name] called out as Oyakata-sama entered the room in front of the courtyard where the Pillar Meeting was usually held. He then smiled at the Shadow Pillar, knowing that she was still hiding in the shadows.
"I see you have heard about Tengen's mission," he spoke and [name] lowered her head.
"By all means, you will be deployed once he makes a move," and [name] nodded in response.
