Tengen's eyes widened as the Pillars tried to attack Muzan, only to have him regenerate back at a rapid speed. No matter how much they cut him, he ends up being back in a full piece. He was having an extremely hard time getting past his tentacles, only to be swung back hitting the ruins of the fallen fortress.
His eyes widened as something ran past him. Or rather, every single Pillar to exist. Before Muazan can fatally wound them, hordes of lesser ranked Demon Slayers push the Pillars out of harm's way, ready to die as human shields as Muzan murders dozens of them.
He muses that they were fortunate to die immediately and points to the dead bodies, only to have his eyes widened when he saw no dead bodies at all. He then looked around and spotted kakushis bringing away the lower-ranked demon slayers, and he gritted his teeth in anger.
"Aren't those the kakushis who worked at the Shadow Estate?" Shinobu asked as she didn't recognize any of them from the Butterfly Estate.
Just then a sudden sinister laugh erupted from Muzan who held his face with his hand as he continued to laugh, still fighting the oncoming attacks from the Pillars who were trying their best to end his life.
He laughed once more as the Pillars got exhausted.
"Pathetic. Weak. Ubuyashiki was just spouting nonsense about any of you ending my life. Just hand over that girl that I'm looking for and I can spare your lives," he taunted, and his eyes looked at Tengen straight in the eye. He smirked a sinister smile as he spoke out once more.
"You were the one in love with that Shadow Pillar, weren't you? I can see it in your eyes," he taunted and Tengen glared daggers at the demon lord before him.
"Too bad, she isn't around anymore to save any of you like she always does. Do you all really think I wouldn't notice her lurking in every shadow going on every mission to ensure all of your safety? It was a miracle she used her last bits of soul to still protect every one of you so that you all can come face me instead,"
"Pathetic. Weak. Second strongest Pillar? Akaza must have lied to me," he taunted and suddenly a bomb was thrown into his face. The smoke cleared and Muzan glared at Tengen who had thrown the bomb into his face.
"Take that back,"
"Oh, did I hit a nerve?"
And Muzan noticed the other Pillars took their stance and prepared to attack at one shot.
Muzan and the Pillars exchange blows and notices that Demon Slayers with their mark activated can resist the effect of his demonic blood. As Muzan tries to land a killing blow on Mitsuri, Gyomei saves her. Sanemi takes the chance to slash Muzan from behind who reacts to the Pillar's attack. Sanemi tosses vials filled with flammable liquid and proceeds to set Muzan ablaze, to which the progenitor Demon protests as dirty. Sanemi proceeds to insult him and vows to kill Muzan.
"Is she really that capable as what you all say of her? If so, she's dead. Gone!" he taunted. Just then he increased his speed and started to attack rapidly, causing the Pillars to back away. Soon Inosuke, Zenitsu, and Kanao arrived to help after picking up Zenitsu, along with Tanjiro and Genya.
"Watch out!" and Kanao's eyes widened, Shinobu tried to reach Kanao in time but failed as a tentacle hit Kanao right in the stomach. Kanao slowly opened her eyes as she felt no pain, and her eyes widened when she saw a black shadow in front of her.
That's when Muzan noticed a good number of black shadow before every single demon slayer present, and he gritted his teeth in annoyance. He ignored the fact about the existence of the black shadow, and proceeded to launch his attacks, only to have the black shadows stop them with ease.
