15. Protect

With Rui in between them, holding their hands; [name] could only feel nothing but bliss as they walked towards the festival. Often she hears Sanemi usual shouting, but then she realized he wasn't cursing, which she was rather thankful about as they were still kids. And his siblings are kids as well, uh, maybe not Genya? Since he is taller than Sanemi after all.

Tengen's ears perked up when he heard the music coming from the festival, and soon Rui was placed onto his broad shoulders as they walked a little faster to the festival. Just then they saw a few figures whizzing past them, and [name]'s eyes widened.

"N-No!" and Tengen took off running with Rui on his back at a high speed.

"TENGEN!"

Sanemi, Giyu, Muichiro, Tanjiro, Kyojuro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Obanai, yes including Obanai, had kids on their shoulders and were racing towards the entrance of the festival at top speed. [name] stared dumbfounded at what just happened and she turned to see the girls, as well as Himejima and Yuichiro sighing in response as they held onto the other kids that were together with them.

"[name]-nee-chan! Can we get candies?" the little girl that was with Mitsuri asked out loud, and [name] couldn't resist the beam in her eyes.

"Sure," and with that, the remaining kids ran towards [name] and tackled her in a big group hug.

"[name]-nee-chan is the best!" and [name] could only smile at how innocent their thoughts were. She soon started to guide everybody towards the entrance, and there, was where the men were waiting for them.

[name]'s eyes soon fell upon two figures who were laying flat on the ground, and she laughed silently to herself as she realized it was Obanai and Zenitsu, panting and catching their breaths while the kids sat on their back, hopping up and down asking them to run once more.

"NO, I'M TIRED!" Zenitsu whined out and the kid on his back started to cry. Tanjiro immediately went to his aid and hush the crying child like the big brother he was.

"Hey, brat. Get off of me already," and the kid on his back, the one with the stoic expression like Giyu's, his eyes started to water slightly and Obanai quickly turned his head and his eyes widened. He then grabbed hold of the kid in his arms and tried to hush him gently.

"[name]-nee-chan! We won!" the kid on Sanemi's head cheered out and [name] clapped, while Sanemi had that smug look on his face, whenever he won something.

"Again! Again!" the kids cried out and [name] shook her head.

"Later when we get back home, alright?" she said, and somehow her voice was so soothing to the kids that they didn't bawl in any way, and agreed to what [name] had suggested.

As they walked through the entrance, Rui started to point to things he wanted to eat and play. [name] than allowed them all to go in their separate ways as long as an adult is accompanying them.

"[name]-nee-chan! I'm hungry," Rui cried out and [name] nodded as she looked at what Rui was pointing at. Her eyes widened when she realized it was takoyaki, and then she looked at Tengen who nodded in agreement.

"One plate of takoyaki, please!" [name] ordered, and the owner of the store nodded and started to put together the takoyaki.

"Careful, it's hot!" [name] spoke as Tengen brought Rui down from his shoulders and carried him in his arm instead, where [name] blew as much as she can to cool down the takoyaki for Rui. Rui then opened his mouth and took the whole piece of takoyaki into his mouth, wincing a little as it was a little hot on the inside still. [name] then smiled and fed Tengen as well.

"THIS IS DELICIOUS!" he spoke out with much enthusiasm and flamboyantly. [name] then smiled and handed the plate of takoyaki to Tengen while she held Rui's hand since she wanted Tengen to eat most of it as she wasn't that hungry. Tengen would always blow on the food and then feed Rui, bending down most of the time as Rui was a mere 6 years old child.
