How in the sand hell did my day turn out so wrong? One minute I'm getting dressed for my brother's wedding and in the very next I'm being forced to wed his fiance "McKenna Thomas," my sworn nemesis.

I stood at an impressive cake stand that held several marvelous cakes hidden behind a crystal clear glass stand.

An even more impressive stand outshone the cake display. This one was filled with any kind of cupcakes that you could ever imagine. My mouth watered instantly when my eyes feasted upon a decadent chocolate cupcake topped with creamy white icing and chocolate drizzle.

“We would like to get two of your chocolate cupcakes that have white icing with the chocolate drizzle on top!” Jae says to the overly friendly redhead lady standing behind the cupcake stand. Her eyes were twinkling with merriment as she openly flirts with my husband in front of me.
“Oh thank you, baby.” I boldly announce then kissed him on his cheek and walk away. I sat down at a booth directly across from Hannah and Raleigh. With watchful eyes, I stared at the two in awe playing with each other as though they were real siblings.
My heart began to ache painfully because of the mounting fear of exposing my secret to Jae about Raleigh's father. Tears of what my life would have been like if I hadn't been attacked always seems to strike me at the worst possible moment. I'm always in the presence of Jae when he's in a warm-hearted, fun, friendly mood. I quickly wiped my tears away when I see him walking towards me carrying a tray with two cupcakes and a very large bowl of vanilla ice cream.
“Before I give you this mouth-watering cupcake you are going to tell me, "what in the hell was going on between you and Ginger back there McKenna? Jae asked sliding onto the seat across from me with a huge smirk on his face.
“Jae if you don't give me my drug of choice I will pummel you into next year!” I demand as we began to play tug a war with the food tray.
"Is little Mrs. McKenna Yung a wee bit jealous of Ginger?" Jae questioned while staring at me with an inquisitive look in his eyes.
“Why would anybody in their right mind be jealous of a lump of potatoes walking on sticks for legs Jae? I asked looking back over at the cupcake stand.
“Mrs. Yung I've always known you to be mean to me but never to a total stranger,” Jae says in between his boisterous fits of laughter that could be heard throughout the place. His serene laughter began lulling me into a relaxing state. I've missed this Jae sitting in front of me so much.
“McKenna I'm sorry for all the things I've...”
“Jae there's something I need to tell you,” I say placing a finger on the top of his soft, plump, pink lips.
Reaching up he grabs my hand squeezing them gently then looks me in my eyes and asked: “Is this going to be something that is going to affect us?
“I'm not sure, but I hope that it will help you to see what kind of person I am Jae,” I replied, trying to free my hand from his. “Promise me that you will listen without interrupting me?
“I will do my best Mrs. Yung,” Jae responds in an unsteady voice.
I sat there shaking violently as I poured out my most painful secret to the man who thought I was a shameless, slutty woman. "Jae, there are only three other people that know about what happened to me almost three years ago and now you are the fourth."
“McKenna, who are those three people? Jae asked with his head facing down and his fist balled up in a knot propped against each side of his temple.
“Raven, Caleb, and the person who brutally raped me,” I say with tears pouring from my eyes and my head hung low. Out of nowhere, I felt myself being gently pulled to my feet and engulfed into a tight hug.
“So, you're telling me that my beautiful little princess Raleigh is a product of rape? I hear Jae asked in a painful broken-hearted voice.
“Yes!” I wailed uncontrollably as the memory of that night flooded back to me. With those memories also came the pain and shameful images, I have been associating myself with for almost three years. We both stood there holding each other in a death grip as I cried my heart out. Every time I thought that I couldn't cry anymore another unwelcome brutal imaged flashed before my eyes. Each time a river of overflowing of tears would burst free.
“It's okay baby I'm here to catch you if you fall. Let your emotions and tears have free rein to do whatever they need to do to be freed from this abundant pain that you've been going through.” I barely hear Jae tell me over my loud sniffles.
“Mommy...” I hear Raleigh yells while tugging on my leg in full-fledged tears. Next, came Hannah audible whimpers as she too tugs on both Jae and mines' arms.
“You two ladies follow me!” Jae says as he wipes his eyes before picking up Raleigh and walks over to the cash register to pay for our items. The ride back home was very quiet and short.
“McKenna you can go ahead into the house while I get these two ladies out of the car.” I hear Jae tell me as soon as he parked the car in the garage. “I'll be in to check on you in a little while." He states before I close the car door completely.
